Marcus Visionary has been a full time dj, producer and promoter for well over a decade.
In the early 90's Marcus was part of the Non Chalant soundsystem which championed the sounds of Hip Hop, Rnb, Reggae and early house. Since 1992 Marcus Visionary has been a dj and promoter in the Toronto jungle scene and is responsible for creating early Delirium and Junglist Movement events. He currently co runs Theory with partners Jose Rodriguez and Matt Patry (Dj Tasc) which is housed at Toronto's famous Guvernment Nightclub Complex. Marcus is also the resident dj for Theory events which has afforded him the opportunity of playing with all of the top artists in the business.
His Prophecy radio show is North America's longest running Jungle Drum and Bass radio program. This year he celebrates 12 years with partner dj Prime. You can catch the Prophecy every Sunday night from 8-10 p.m E.S.T on 89.5 F.M or www.ciut.fm.
In 2005 the duo set up two labels via Load Media in the U.K; Dance Rock and Lion Dubs. They were also fortunate enough to be noticed by Shy FX and T Power and picked up as resident artists for the new Digital Soundboy label. Check out the website at www.digitalsoundboy.com. Since then they've had three releases on the label with the latest being 'Give Me Your Love' and 'Jungle Rock' which features one of their resident vocalists Peter Ranking. With the support of Shy FX and T Power Visionary are now full time studio headz focussing on creating a unique dancefloor friendly sound.
In the last decade Visionary have also been featured on many premiere labels including: Play:musik, 31 Records, Revolve:r, Trouble on Vinyl, Horizon Music, X tinction Agenda, Shout, Flex Records, Hustlin Beats, On Point, Nice and Smoothe and of course Digital Soundboy, Dance Rock and Lion Dubs!
The Visionary sound is a fusion of dub, reggae, techno, soul, and early jungle with strict attention paid to melody and sub bass. In the last two years Visionary have managed to contribute a fresh new sound to the Drum and Bass world and it seems that there is no stopping this dynamic duo anytime soon. Along with his countless amounts of releases R.A.W. has also been very fortunate to spread his gospel to numerous cities around the world. R.A.W. is infamous for taking out opponents when it comes to dj battles but one battle in particular that stands out was the 'West L.A. Music Battle' judged by DJ QUIK! Reason being, he was one of the first Dj's in the U.S. to win a DJ battle spinning drum n bass.
Although a pioneer in the underground scene the main stream continues to sleep on one of the true pioneers in the game. But trust, it won't be long before R.A.W. becomes a household name regardless of what mainstream attention he garners in the years to come.

Last nite was nothing short of EPIC!!! Anyone who saw Marcus' shirt or my shirt or saw Ridda's face or felt it themselves were on sweat mode last nite because it was just crazy energy/vibes up in that place. Jahwy started it off more than proper. Dood shreds it on the decks and i told him that i was glad he got an hour and a half to shine cause he deserves it. RAW was sick as shit. I am not a big dubstep head, but man when he plays it I become one. All of the hip hop acapella's ("Going Back To Cali" to "A Millie") are my shit!!! He got it straight buggin' in there and frankly makes peeps lean wit it like no other. Then Marcus came on and just brought that jungle dub-wise flavor! He had it super super poppin'!!! That set is one i would like to have on my iPod because it was banging in a club but i know i would bump in my car and at home and in the iPod while exercising. When a set in dnb does that to me it is simply perfection on all senses. And lastly Ridda is a beast on the mic. From singing to spitting to hyping to letting beats ride, man is beyond legit in our scene (via SD). Respect is churning it out week in and week out. Got to props all crews who WORKED TOGETHER to make this show happen...no egos...no fight for credit, just made it happen and all u guys hard work was paid off in the smiles and sweat from the massive!!! One of the best nights in the history of Respect easily!!!
on a side note it was refreshing that so many people (because of my Obama shirt) watched his speech and wanted to talk about it with me as i passed through. Even peeps for McCain wanted to talk. crazy when in the midst of a slamming event junglists care about politics, hahahaaa

Last night was unreal... We have been speaking to Marcus since February, so to finally get a chance to enjoy his set was amazing. He absolutely destroyed the place, as expected. Keep your eyes and ears pealed because that set might be the next DSB Podcast.
Fingers Crossed...
RAW killed it as usual with the bass mash up session...BOH is all I have to say about that.
Big up to Jahwy, Ridda, and XYZ...absolutely on point. I was very impressed with the way you work together.

When Marcus came on I thought I was going to fall over cause of how hot it was in that place. Good thing I didnt cause he absolutely destroyed the place!
On to XYZ... man what can I say other then your awesome. You were killing it last night and it was making me step up my game. Always a great time playing along side you.

Last nite was Large. I'd like to thank Soundlaab and the Junglist Platoon for giving me that extra long opening set, an hour and a half is always nice.. and to be 1 of 3 dj's play'n on a nite with Marcus Visionary and R.A.W. inside (+ APX1, Machete, and Clutch play'n all the jams on the patio... MC XYZ & MC Ridda on the mic inside hosting, toasting, and just busting like they do was...
I was loving the vibes all nite... from the main stage to the patio.. I've got to also big up all the people who played ^above^ along with my girl and all the homies who came out to support (you all know who you are (GoneJahmen Crew, Jungle Riddim, Ghetto Life, Tonz of Drumz, etc... etc.. and so on...
..everyting blessed
... so I think we all want to know.. when is the next Vibe & Respect combo? .. a saturday nite would be nice too..
