Do you or anyone you know still use a 05 Pro series mixer?
I was just thinkin the other night how back in the day the VESTAX 05pro used to be found at nearly every gig I played at.
Now I never see them around......
Im in the need of a new mixer so Im thinkin about going back to the 05Pro....miss that little bugger...... |

why??? Poor sound quality and no mid eq...I used to have one and am glad I kicked it to the curb...never looked back. |

its still a big staple w/just about anyone playing hip hop, its kind of weird.
everyone really went w/pioneer
im really suprised how pioneer slowly turned into the standard w/CDJs, and it looks like its doing it w/mixers now |

exactly!!! couldn't agree with you more!
not a good mixer for mixing... plus the volume faders are too fast too... they go from really low, to really loud -- you can't gradually raise the volume unless you use the gains... s**tty!

No fond memories or the old Vibeflow 05 which met its demise after someone poured a beer in the damn thing and couldn't get the faceplate off because it was held together with superglue.

i grew up on a vestax and earned my wings on my 06 and then my 05....at this point i'm well over the 05. it does not hold its weight for mixing and not having a mid eq is irritating.
butttttt if you wanna battle mixer, those rane 56i's (i think?) are teh swoon. i like pioneers and all but i was born on a battle mixer and i'll die on one. |

You can actually fix that problem by taking the face plate off and flip the switch on each volume fader. I actually still own one but I am looking to get something with mids.

i never liked the vestax for the many reasons stated already. as a turntablist and mixoligist there is no better mixer then the sexy beast of a mixer called the RANE TTM 56. money well spent.... |

I'm surprised more havent chimed in on this. The 05/06/07 vestax is renowned for [what most skratch djs consider] the lightest, fastest, most functional crossfader, particularly those who cut hamster style (channels reversed). Unlike most crossfaders the vestax "bounces", enabling crabs and such and putting the emphasis on the fingers vs the thumb. With cheap EQs and sharp upfaders, they are worthless for mixing basically.
No mystery that I own a Rane TTM 56i like several who mentioned them. I did a simple mod to the crossfaders and with proper lubrication they bounce very similar to the vestax. Tits mixer... all faders are %100 adjustable and reversable - the crossfader even has independant adjustments for each SIDE, meaning one side can cut while the other fades. Excellent for mixing as they contain high quality British board eqs and such. However at $800, this is simply out of range for a lot of people. well worth it though..

i still use an 05 Pro II and i still love it. i don't care what u guys say.
i'm lookin to get a Rane TTM-56 but my 05 has served me well and is still going strong. |

well I got a pionneer and a few other mixers.....on hand just never owned a 05pro guess its good I havent....
juss kinda over the large oversized hunks of mixer......I want a little one......
guess ill juss go with......
