Is hefeweizen good for you?
Sometimes at jungle parties I see wheat beer and wonder if since it has wheat in it its good for my health.
Buffalo Theory anyone??

stella is not a hef but it is dry and hefs are dry which is why i like em same reason why i like asahi. i like dry beers when eating...especially w/ seafood / shellfish! |

When it comes to the Wheats - these are my top picks:
Sierra Nevada Wheat- One of my fave Sierra's. Not sure why stores don't stock this one as much compared to the others. It doesn't pack that much of a kick but it's a smooth and simple wheat - straight to the point.
Pyramid Apricot Wheat- One of the OG pyramid's. This one is a classic. You either love it or hate it. Definitely one of my fave wheats.
Bert Grant Mandarin Hefe- Until Bert Grant went under... this was the SHIT! If you were lucky enough to find this one on tap at your local brewery with a slice of orange to top it, you know what i mean! BOMB! Even bought out Bev & Mo for the last cases... they were expired but still tasted GOOD!
Lost Coast Great White- One of the best Lost Coast flavor's and probably the smoothest wheat around. Can never get sick of this one. Has a pinch of citrus and even better on tap.
**Thomas Kemper Weizen Berry- This one is not pictured because it's nearly impossible to get, at least in CA. Used to be sold on tap at the Pyramid Brewery years back and was one of the best wheat beers i've ever had. This one can only be found in WA it seems these days. If you ever run across this one- don't sleep!
Anyone remember Henry Weinhards Blackberry Wheat? I don't even think that exists anymore.
Portland's "Kornhauser's Oast" (Brewmaster Original Recipe) was the s**t too! It had an old dude on the label holding up a beer. This wasn't really a wheat / more of a cross between a wheat and a pale ale but it was one of the smoothest beers i've ever had and one of the best Portland flavors ever made.
