how long ago was it that diversity was actually celebrated in dnb ???
people would take the time to big up the specific sub-genre they were into sure, but to hate on the other sounds of the scene??? y? so someone else doesnt like jump up, almost all of la hates the dark stuff and ragga, and most people are over the chin stroking beardstep. so what does that leave? does anyone actually like drum and bass ??? wtf . |

beardstep is a put down on tech/step & neuro. kind of like, they are the older bitter guys that dont dance, just listen and stroke their beard as they are way too sophisticated to actually have fun. kind of how pots and pans is to dark jungle. |

Most people i guess regret that they love jungle or the form of jungle they listen to come on admit the fact that JUMP-UP is the reason you started listening to jungle (drum&bass ect.). Despite the form of music it is all jungle stop categorizing it. I like it all and all have tracks that just suck ass. BLahhhhh

i can vouge for calculon on this one, alongside rfx, they put down one of the most diverse sets ive heard in a long time @ upgrade, all the while keeping it smooth and clean.
on the other hand i see what kelly means, he was generalizing, most dj's do tend to stick to one subgenre these days. oh and btw kelly "nobody likes dnb anymore"????wtf i disagree

Ok, let me clear a few things up about my comment.
Its was all in a light hearted tone.
I did generalize my statement about all dj's play the same stuff, and like Tom Lykiss says, "theres always exception to the rule"
Ive seen many dj's play wide ranges in sets, and its def the way to go.
Sometimes ill even catch myself playin to much tech stuff.
And about the comment "nobody likes dnb anymore" that was a lil sarcasm. Guess i forgot my "8P" sarcasm sign |
