felt like a slap in the face

I am writing the most heart filled post that I can at the moment.
I have been attending Funktion since it opened. I have fully supported bass rush and insomniac events for years. Not only did I give them my time and money but most importantly they had my respect. That all changed after the way I was treated last night. I cannot even express in words the way I feel right now. I went to Funktions opening night, must have waited in line for an hour and 20 minutes. Mind you that I had this free pass to get in from the very last funktion. So I finally get to the door and I hand the lady my free pass and she says "oh Pasaquale said not to take those after 11," (it's about 11:30) I say "well can you please call him cause I just drove an hour to get here, spent and hour and 20 minutes in line and put my last 20 dollars in my tank?'' I was not rude at all. She says back to me in a very demeaning tone "no you call him''
I say "look I don't even have my cell phone on me." Then she is completely outrageously rude to me and says "10 dollars." I am thinking in my head what the f**k?" No one told me that I had to use this pass before 11, all I was told is that I would get in free if I had the dam thing. Nope not true at all. So after driving for and hour, putting the last of my money into gas and parking, then waiting in line for an hour and 20 minutes I had to turn around and go straight home with no show at all. (kinda reminds me of those dirty rave crews) LIARS!
I was so f***ing pissed I could have probably shanked that f**king c**t face to death and not felt one emotion about it. I felt like I was bitch slapped and treated like a piece of garbage. Funktion used to give me that peacefully family vibe, a place where I could go and feel like I was taken care of . Not any more, now I just feel like they never cared and all, it was about was making money, I felt sold out. I still can't get the bad taste out of my mouth. In all honestly this hurt me. May sound strange that I let something this little get to me but wtf I attended funktion every week (even though I have to get up at 4 am and be to work at five I still made it), I have spent well over thousands of dollars on insomniac parties, I have stuck up for Bass Rush when people dissed them, I have been nothing but loyal to Bass Rush and Insomniac. Now I am just another dollar to them. I never did matter in the first place. I am so discussed at the moment and feel very frustrated and angry.

I understand your frustrations korkor, i think it was the situation you should be mad at, not bassrush nor insomniac. Also dont let one person at the door, whos probably just pissed because they have to sit there all night and cant go have fun, ruin all the good times youve had in the past and hopefully in the future. You have a right to be angry, but please reconsider the target. From what I understand(and im still new at this) but bassrush dosnt make tons of money on funktion for several reasons, ie "free passes" and guestlists, they bring out good talent for us and we are spoiled in that respect, so please rethink this and hopefully you will be able to ignore the idiot security and door men/women. Once you get inside and hear that first bassline drop, you will forget all about what happened outside. If you change your mind and want to give it another shot, ill see you there and buy you a beer!

i went to funktion once & quite frankly i hated it. i felt like it was a waste of my time & money. too many assholes & the prices for drinks are astronomical. me & a couple friends i was there with caught the bartenders lying as they charged different prices for the exact same drink from one person to another, just minutes apart. security was way too strict outside, inside & all around. several times they shined their lights at us as they kept walking through the dance floor. like i said, this was the only time we went (it was several months ago when marcus intalex & ak1200 were there) & we ended up getting in late cause there was no parking & the wait in line outside was longer than expected....we also left early cause none of the 4 of us were feeling the vibes all, it was to the point that we just preferred to go home & get some sleep instead. additionally, they were having a ridiculous amount of technical difficulties with the sound system. lots of feedback, distortion, muted speakers & what not throughout the approx. 2 hours we were there.

im not sticking up for bassrush or anything, but it sounds like you just met a bad person at the door.

i would have tried to get more people involved intstead of just walking away, if you explained your story maybe to a couple of other heads im sure they wouldnt have had a problem letting you in (you werent aware the passes didnt work after 11pm, but you came all the way there and the ticket iiisss supposed to get you in) im sure bassrush doesnt advertise that those passes dont work after 11 ya know..

i would have gave the girl at the door a nice "f**k you, let me speak to someone else" but in a polite manner of course.

but that sucks the way it went down. i would ave jumped a gate or something haha

we can sum this up by saying the girl at the door and korkor had a disagreement and customer service was lacking at the door I am sure that is something that bassrush would want to look into

noone wants to lose a core customer

you know what, i had the same thing happen to me, i got off work at like 5:30pm had arrands to do, then got ready to go, i worked really hard in convincing my homie to go, cuz he was having a bad day.. anyways, we drove 2hr from palm sprngs to get there, and when we finally got there [@11pm], we had to wait in that ridiculous line.. the people checkin ID were takin there sweet ass time,& i had to wait like 40min.. so i got out of line and asked pasqual if i could get to the front cuz i had that free entry bulls**t, and he said, naw cuz then everyone will wanna do the same, and promised me the line was going to start moving faster... i was OK buddy, got back in line and when i got to the front they told that s**t about not taking those stupid things anymore, i was like are you serious?? paid, and didn't talk s**t (cuz i know that chick, she remembered me from vanguard, i used to go every week) and they've let me in for free before just cuz, and she didn't take the damn thing, i was like whats the f**kin differance, ya know.. but whatever..

so later on i see pasqual and he comes up to me and asked me if i got in ok, i said "yeah, finally" he's like get here earlier and you won't have to wait in that long line, and i reminded him how i have to travel to go to that thing and have to work 7am-5pm erryday, but he kind of ignored the fact, and laughed it off. ya kno.. i had totally forgot to mention that free entry thing but whatever.. i'm over it, not sure if i wanna go back... i was pretty dissapointed myself!! oh and no heinakens or coronas, WTF?? i was there for an hr, and homie had to go sleep in the car, we didn't get home til 5:30am cuz we were soo f**kin tired, and only went to funktion to support... when we had to work @ 7am, it sucked a$$

if it wasn't for some of my friends cheering me up, i would of had a really bad night... cuz there was also some drama when i got in, and was argueing for like 30-40min about some bull...

the worst is when I was alread there before 11 but they couldnt get there security to get there heads out of their asses so I waited forever (not to mention all the fools that were cutting)

running the line slow, or "holding the line" is an old hollywood club trick to make it look-like, to potential customers passing by that, the club is super-packed, and is the place to be.

Ummm yeah...I came from New Mexico for this show (well, not specifically for the show, but it was an added bonus). Anyway, I never got in because the line was NOT moving at all. What was the deal? Was the club at full capacity or what? I was really stoked to see Noisia and to check out a REAL DnB show (which we don't really have in NM) but I guess we should have gotten there earlier.

your feelings should be based on the fact that Pasaquale did let your free pass work all night, and not on the girl that's just doing what she's told by whose paying her... if the pass would have been accepted your encounter with her would have been short and in good nature.

I would have never been mad at the girl at the front if she wasnt such a f**king c**t face BITCH! but she was and she was absolutley rude and not helpfull and if I was bassrush I would fire her ass so fast. I wouldnt want some one like that representing for my team! I am a very understanding and laid back, if I wasnt treated like a piece of garbage maybe I wouldnt have all this hate for her. There is no wrath like a womans furry!

I didnt read all the responses on here but those guys do put in a ton of work for little return. I have met both the cats putting that show together and from what I have gathered, they are deff in it for the music. I think I know exactly who your are talking about and have had that person be rude to me only to get bitch slapped when the man himself came out and put it down. The next week we were filming and had some giveaways, guess who didnt get s**t?! So count that for the both of us bruvva. Honestly thought those cats do put in thier work, and if you have ever worked with them in regards to trying to do something like filming or interviews they ususally have your back and come through. Anyway, I have nuffin but respect for those cats. Cant wait to check the new spot.

they are the homies, but i expected more, for someone like me who used to be a regular, coming out from palm springs n shyt, even when i work the next day... Pasquale usually hooks it up with a lot of stuff,but maybe it's only because it was the first night... i dunno, right now, i feel like i might not wanna go back, unless there's some dope show i must attend.. then again, maybe it was just a wierd night, lots of stuff went wrong last night.. one of those days i guess...
