so a friend and I were having a conversation, and the reason why this is jungle related..we were talking about how magically a few bedroom dj's (FYI this is pertaining to another town) end up with killer dubs that are killing the vinyl industry

i know of a few ppl that misteriously have tunes that i know they shouldnt have. i know because i have herd them play them first hand and (not to be a dick .. but curiously) asked the producer them self if they happend to push the tunes off to them. most common response was "WHO?"

i get tunes from ppl who happen to be good friends. and its not like im beating down their door to get them. they offer them to me. i wont take tunes from ppl that didnt produce them. thats a good way to get burned. *cough-krisis-cough*

The socal dub society is very cool and trading dubs is a great way to support and get supported by local artists.

Of coarse i mean trading your tunes for someone elses.

We have our own dubplate culture out here.

Lets not f**k it up.

this is the same guy who also took the original tunes of a few well known producers and ripped them and cut up the tune in acid fl or something like that rearranged the samples and breaks and called it a rmx .. posting the tunes on doa and sending them ff to numerous record labels to get signed.

also took a few of geins tunes and didnt even do that.. he just re named them . adam (able of gein) was riding in someones car in florida and the kid was like.. "dood you have to check these tunes my boy made" lo and behold all the tunes on the cd were gein releases with the name changed and "krysis" as the producer labeled on the cd.

i know of a few other producers he did the same to also..

on the topic of piracy, i read this today discussing why Sublight Records (which for me released some very influention records) just went under:

essentially discussing that middlemen like amazon, itunes, best buy, etc etc have such a tremendous markup it leads people to pirate.
with the ease of internet stores these days, i would like for more people to take the extra 5 minutes to order directly from the labels as much as possible.
