What electronic music is everyone feeling at the moment?

CALLING ALL JUNGLISTS AND JUNGLETTES!!


i am curious.... what are you feeling right now when it comes to other s**t.. (still in the electronic music familY). I am asking this because:

one.. I am currently doing Trust which is multi genre and i would like my jungle friends to come out and enjoy themselves.

and two... I have been amazed and inspired by all the new DIY electronic music sprouting up. From Dubstep, grime, glitchhop, Midtempo breaks/dirty dancehall (i.e. kraddy, tipper... ), electro....

all these genres are NOT new. but it seems like some of the best music ever put out in these genres is coming out now..

so whats UP?!?!?! names, labels, genres... local, international, interplanetary... do it trick!

gotta say i'm feeling a lot of the new house and electro that has been coming out atm. all the stuff that was played last friday at Trust. ed banger stuff, etc... it's just fun to dance to, and it sounds sick.

ATM Pete is shoving the electro down my throat and some of it is really good.
Plus it gets the girls really goin.
I like the real bassy dirty electro s**t.
And some of it is to happy for me to take it seriously.

Dirty nu-school breaks are always good wif me.

Really feelin the Electro-Funky-Disco house. I used to spin it a while back (second room @ Bleu...Dave you remeber that ish..haha!) and jus picked it back up. Cant go wrong with House music..

Fanu - Daylightless [Lightless Recordings]
This is, hands down, the best album I've heard in years. If you don't listen to this, you are missing out an amazing piece of art. Deep, dark downtempo unlike anything I've heard before.

Beat Pharmacy - Steadfast [Deep Space Media]
A great collection of soulful, dubby tunes. A little bit house, a little bit broken beat, and a little bit downtempo, it's a great laid back weekend soundtrack.

DJ Vadim - The Sound Catcher [BBE]
The Russian represents again! Quality global beats from Vadim this time around, with more rhymes from MCs in various languages.

John Digweed - Transitions Volume 3 [Bedrock]
I stopped listening to Digweed and everyone else of his ilk several years ago when they all abandoned the dark/tribal/progressive sound in favor of bleepy minimalism. I've been listening to his radio a lot lately, along with the amazing set him and Sasha played at Bonnaroo this year, and have warmed up to what he's playing now. It's minimal, but its dark, and has elements of the bygone progressive days. He's at Avalon this coming Saturday (along with another longtime favorite of mine, Kazell), hopefully I'll be able to check him out.

i think almost anything BT does is *technically* amazing, even if i don't dig the music.

i'm a big IDM fan, although i can't picture IDM going over well at a club with a dancefloor.

infected mushroom always has and always will be my one-stop-shop for amazing, progressive, super-in-depth electronic production, and i feel sorry for them that they have to be associated with the "trance" genre that largely disassociates itself with psy and goa. likewise i'm also a big shpongle fan, and i happen to like a good deal of anything else simon postford does. i'm fond of other artists in the psy subgenre, although few psy artists are as prolific as IM.

i love the more electronic oriented post-rock like Mum, etc. although i doubt the genre would do well for anything other than an oxygen bar or some other new-fangled health bar.

as far as house goes, i only like funky and progressive. hernan cattaneo does good progressive stuff, but i don't know many other artists. i haven't heard any actual funky house in a while.

and then there's always the vaguely-labeled "downtempo" genre that encompasses the likes of massive attack, portishead, tricky, etc. and other more hip-hop-influenced trip-hop style acts, each with varying degrees of electronic accompaniment... peace orchestra is really cool, but i've only heard one tune by them...

i'm consistently blown away by chino xl, i guess that's breaks... huge crystal method fan as well... those guys production is amazing... and who could forget orbital?

other artists i don't know how to classify: boards of canada, godspeed you black emperor, prefuse 73, air, loom, locust toybox and about a trillion others.

Really feeling (some) of the Fast Breaks aka (Nu-Rave) stuff coming out. A lot of it is sorta cheese but there is quite a bit to shop through. Most of these "new" genres have been around for a bit but they are receiving more attention these days due to better production and peoples failing interest in other more prevalent styles. Cheers to evolution!

I'm really feel'n the ragga-dub-step sounds lately (Jacky Murda has got some ill tunes with original ragga voicings from people like Richie Spice, Bushman, & etc.) most of the stuff is only out on dubs but look out for it when that ish drops.
Other than that I can enjoy some good Electro & House music too, My friend's Hawkeye & Lillyanne have got alot of nice stuff on there label (Headinghome) which David Mancuso pushes & plays too.

The best is when its all mixed together, me and my ADD are really feeling the multi-genre mixes and mixing, especially if its actually mixed and flows... who made the rule you have to play all one style for an hour? Thats soooo 90's...

Canoe - "Debris meets the Sea" album (hip hop/grime/dubstep) *this album is huge, a lot better than anything I have heard in these genres in a while*

JUSTICE - huge tunes coming from this Ed Banger artist.

I got this collaberation mix of The Gorillaz and The space Monkeys and it hasn't left my cd player. It sounds like slow reggea but it puts me in a good mood. I also just found my LTJ Bukem live in in Boston cd and I have been grooving out in my room to it. I love intelligent drum and bass it's my favorite!

I would also say LIQUID FUNK has more of my attention right now as well!!

if you came to trust this sat you would have seen what that s**t is really all about.. drum n bass is where my heart is but when it comes to going to a club b/c you know your going to have an awesome time and you know the vibe will be propper..ive def been feeling the nu-electros bizness

i know alot of the hommies are hatin cuz ive lived drum n bass for a long time now.. let me just tell you all that im still all about it just really feeling the new sounds..

(3 hours of electro) was the best night ive had in a long ass time.. TRUST plays everything.. drum n bass, breaks,dubstep, electro, house etc.. but the best vibe ive seen in a while was on on our electro night.. you def gotta check this spot out.. its goodtimes all around..

but i feel you.. people that are all about just drum n bass prolly wouldnt be into what we got goin on..we are all about good music, and not all about just one style or genre of music.. but if you like to get drunk, dance, and leave with someone pretty.. you should prolly come by

Saw Gabriel & Dresden live the other night @ Belo in SD... kinda put me in a vocal trance/prog house mood lately. Been digging up some of my old G&D, Above and Beyond, Late Night Alumni, Rachel Starr, Armin van Buuren, etc.

There any other EBM/elektro/synthpop fans out here? I'd love to get a bit more into that scene. VNV/Front Line Assembly/Combichrist/Chiasm/Seabound etc--but I need someone to talk to who can point me to some of the banging german EBM or at least the good stuff in English. Last major show I went to was VNV Nation live last october which, despite the fact that groovetickets/whoever put it together MASSIVELY FUCKED UP on, was an awesome show. Standing out in the cold with my newly ex-girlfriend at the time, she left before the show even started out of frustration...
