favorite dnb?

Drum n Bass has come along way; it is really exciting to see so many styles
and sub-genres emerging from the underground. It would be interesting to hear
some opinions on the matter as well as the styles of DNB you are most fond of.
There are so many forms of DNB I truly believe DNB is at the forefront of “Techno Evolution” as it continues to bring strength, imagination and diversity to the genre.

My favorite styles are:

Dubwise
Ragga
Jump-up
Little bit of Wobble
Techstep
Liquid Funk!
Jazz-step
Atmospheric

and probably a few more I am forgetting right now. =]

1) Source Direct old sound (hard s**t, amen laced but true songs and not just tunes)
2) Congo-Natty-ish ragga jumpup
3) Early Tech Itch type s**t (like post Source Direct)
4) Ol skool dnb (anything from 'Your Sound Rmx" to "Piper" to "Lighta" to "Supersharpshooter", Dope Dragon)
5) Dillinja (and now TC) sound
6) Tech s**t (see SIXTH SESSOINS)
7) Drum Funk
Nu-skool jumpup

In order of preference:

Techmospheric - current tunes
Atmospheric 96 - 2004 styles
Drum Funk (mainly seba and paradox - the masters!)
Old school 92-97 biz
Techy deep biz (big oozy basslines ala Chris Su)
Dubwize
Jazzy (but not cheeeezy liquid funk)

Old Atmospheric comes in as # 1 favorite for me! That sound is so untouchable, so timeless

i like it ALL too but if i had to pick one i'd say nu skool jump up. like that first track silver played on sunday that probly nobody knew the name of. not the top 40 stuff i've heard a million times, the exclusive s**t. thats me fav

Da new jump up is Fiyyaaa!!

As a producer I try and mix subgenres together to make
a fresh sound...

Bottom Line is DNB is DNb and because DNB can be infused with
almost any Genre....it is extreamly diverse...

To me DNB is the ultimate
"Evolotion in Techno"

I might even say it is the ultimate in Music Evolution...

DNB is influenced by all the music in the world...

Intelligent Hardstep
/Hard-Intellectual Drillstep
because of it's amazing
complexities...

And in contrast, the other end of the spectrum..

Just straight DNB in any shape or form as long it has substance and
feeling...

I guess it's more about what
you are feeling that moment....

You listen to music that fits the mood or puts you in the mood..

Checked out "plastic people"
real simple tune it just grooves..
one bassline riff..it's a cool song
especialy when it drops out....

sick tune - I like the sexy on top of it all...

I knew drum n bass was complex, but wasn't aware there were sooooo many different styles!!! I couldn't keep track if I tried.

For me - the heavier the better with unpredictable bass-lines and sexy splashes of a woman's vocals

I'm not too fond of the dnb that's just endlessly repetitive. You have to have a tune, you have to have meaning, you have to have beauty! I don't care what style it comes from as long as it feels like something more than some dude laying down mindless beats into a sequencer...

I do have a really hard time enjoying music where they f**k with the rhythm a little bit too much. It's just not compelling, doesn't really order my body to dance like the good stuff does.

However, I do make exception for some stuff that I should probably hate.... but the beat is so good, so well polished, that I just forget about all that crap I listened above and just get moving...
