Direct Feed hits us with one hell of a mix. A mixture of very hard dark and nasty tunes with a hip hop pinch. Usually if you think of the marriage of drum n bass and hip hop you think to some cheesy jump up tune, but Direct Feed shows us that a touch of hip hop also works well with hard, dark and aggressive drum n bass also. This mix is one of my favorites for this exact reason. Ohhh did I mention that Direct Feed is one hell of a producer and it shows as a majority of the tunes are by his own hand. From the intro to the outro, Direct Feed delivers a killer of a mix.

Probable Cause is one of the leaders of the San Diego drum n bass movement being a solid DJ and promoter (Deep in San Diego, SD's longest running weekly event). He delivers a very fast and upbeat dancefloor set. Seriously from the jump this mix is a race in and out of groovy and dancefloor smashers. With long mixes of tunes with the speed of the tunes, Probable Cause emphasizes the "mix" portion of the coined term 'mix n blend'. With a fast pace don't sleep on this mix from Probable Cause.

Now repeat after me and remember this name, Devoe! Now why do I say that, because as one of SoCal’s hottest producer/DJs, Devoe’s name in 2007 and beyond is going to be on the tips of tounges of drum n bass heads everywhere. Representing the Relentless Audio crew, this mix is chalked with primarily his own productions/creations. I could go off and go into depth on his tunes and such, but I feel listening the mix is the best remedy for that... Needless to say there are some special things coming from the Relentless camp. The beauty of this mix is that his songs may differ in style and substance, but the mix itself still flows like the mighty Rio Grande!!! That is a testament not only to his production skills but his DJn’ skills. Unfortunately Devoe didn’t pick up his saxophone to bless this mix (for those who don’t know he drops sax riffs live at shows up and down SoCal), but hey I can’t complain. Get used to the name and the label and look for big things from Devoe, ohhh yeah that “YES” tune is pretty phat also *wink*, BOH!!!!!!!!!!!

DJ Primo comes through with a magnificent tech step/rollin’ mix that sees him blaze through 20+ tunes in a span of 40 minutes. Known in Los Angeles for his relentless attack on the decks and quick mixing style, this mix lives up to the name he sports, primo *kisses fingers in Italian gesture of ‘magnificent*. The mixing is flawless and his mix between songs are some of the smoothest transitions. Heavy on the tech side most tunes in his selection convey that style, but there is never a dull moment as from the jump the pace of the mix seems to pick up tune after tune after tune. Tunes from a plethora of producers from Gridlok to Bad Robot to Ink to Moving Fusion litter this mix beautifully. On a personal note Primo wanted to thanks and dedicate this mix to the late great Mariano “Grouchy” Maradiaga (R.I.P.) and to his girlfriend Sopia Jade Biggs. Primo delivered this mix with a heavy heart, but came through focused to deliver a compelling drum n bass mix which is straight fire!!!
