What is your ulitmate concern in life?

What I mean is what drives you? What makes you get up in the morning and get dressed?
I'm asking this question because in my socio of religion class I have to intreview someone and ask them this question.
I just wanted to know what ppls thoughts are on this type of question.

being happy...... being loved.... loving my friends and family... enjoying whatever it is I'm doing...... those are my main concerns.

Everything else can suck a nut. =P

The knowledge that the life i live effects people in a positive manner,
the idea that i'm making a difference, even if it is a small manner.

If i dont get up for work, i dont get paid.
If i dont get paid, i cant pay rent/party/buy records/produce and will be forced to live with parents.
If i live with parents, i will kill myslef.
So in essence if i dont get up for work i will die.

following my intuition, trusting my judgment and learning from past mistakes so that i can lead a progressive life. ultimatly, i wish i was loaded so i could donate my $$ and time to those who are less fortunate.

I am working toward the day where i dont have to grind so hard just to survive.

i guess im working for a simple existence with friends and family at the center that i can create with my music and artistic expression. seems like that is asking alot in 2007 but im tryin to aim high and keep hustling (pardon the term).

a little house on a beach somewhere would be really great too.

Spirituality, Love, Music, Knowledge and Wisdom.

Feeding the Hungry, Protecting innocent children, Stopping the spread of the American invented AIDS epidemic. The prevention of further raping of places in the world like AFRICA, the Middle East, and many other places our governments choose to use up, wipe out and destroy.

Ultimately this all would sum up to be WORLD PEACE, and that will either come from humankind working together to save our civilization or our planet purifying itself of mankind once and for all.

Either one will certainly happen - world peace is inevitable.

as a means to steer this post into a "drum n bass related" discussion, what is drum and bass to you from an existential point of view. is it just an aesthetic / activity or does it drive you to progress in your life in other areas un-related to dnb? art is progress...no? isn't dnb art?

struggling and fighting are bad ways to achieve peace and understanding on any front. it's exactly the way western medicine deals with diseases.

in eastern medicine and homeopathy, the prevailing philosophy is that strengthening the body will cause the body to rid itself of the disease naturally. in that respect, we can strengthen humanity through education, love, and the promotion of true equality instead of stop-gap measures (i.e. reparations over affirmative action). ron paul said it well - racism will only end when we stop looking at people as members of groups (racial, religious, gender, sexual orientation, etc.) but rather as individuals.

furthermore - i know that you and i are on the same wavelength, so you'll probably go "d'oh" when you realize that saying that you wish to spread tolerance is directly antithetical to fighting the religious right.

for another frame of reference, think about how conscious hip-hop is a "lifestyle" vs. just a musical form. it encompasses other areas related to the arts i.e. dance, poetry (lyricism), art (graffitti) etc. obviously dnb runs paralell to this ideal due to the eclectic influences that it has derived from.

drum and bass is a journal for me. i can look back at every track that i've ever written and see how the person i was used to think, as well as my general emotional and intellectual state. it ultimately manages to encompass everything i've ever learned, be it religous, socio-political, personal, etc, and this is obvious in track names, the samples i use (when i use recognizable ones), and my programming (as i've found that through programming and arrangement you can instill a variety of moods and psychological states in people).

art is a physical manifestation, in any respect, of human expression. you could sort of view any human expression as art, in that sense. but art has a reason for being; the question is not if something is or is not art, but WHY.

would u say then that producing, or djing for that matter, offers a means of "clarification" in life? like the way you spin or the way you produce...does it resemble the way you proceed in life? or does it reveal certain aspects of your personality in the process?
