How did you get into DnB?

Everything I know about Drum n Bass I pretty much taught myself just from the internet. Thats how I got really into it. What about you?

LOTS and LOTS of Channel X when i was in Big Bear.. internet as well.. a great deal from the internet actually.

In 96 I used to work with 2 British guys, they would crank Ragga into the wee hours of the morning whilst we tried to hit deadline. This totally beat Jungle into my brain, I hated it at first but for some reason it made me work faster, so it grew on me. The rest is history...

Oh yeh, my first D&B cd's were given to me by these dudes:

My homie got me into it - I went to parties but I didn't really like all the house and trance and drugs and s**t in the scene. I always ended up in the D&B rooms - even though I didn't really know what it was. Eventually with some help from the homie I found producers and DJs I liked to listen to - and then it was all over . . .

Heretic's Jungle Classics was my first tape and that pretty much hooked me too, so I booked him for my first party, Kaya.

started going to parties at an old (non-existent now) club in d.c. called tracks, when i was 15. it was the only club that was 18 and up, but didn't care how old you were... got into the scene, but not jungle-that came when i started going to nation... i became a regular at buzz on friday nights, and then when i moved to philly-started helping my friends promote for hip-hop s**t and local dnb parties. the scene is so rad out here tho... so many nice people always willing to help you out and introduce you to everyone. definately the best scene i've ever been a part of.

There's all sorts of little things I can say that add up to why/how I got into the scene but the one thing that stands out most in my mind is being twisted off my lid on acid and someone putting on Dieselboy's "Supreme" mixtape ... it rattled my brain like nothing else and I was hooked ...

someone told me about the amazing production on adam f's 'colours' - i was just supposed to listen to it for how great it sounds. after that, though - dnb in the house!

it was about 95 i started getting more in to electronic music so i just listen to it all and s**t i heard goldie-inner city life and the rest is history

My boyfriend who is just about the MOST knowledgable person that I know when it comes to D n B. Used to be all Breaks for me.. he introduced me to it by giving me an LTJ cd...then 50 other CD's followed. And now I am blessed with him spinning every night at home....I contributed to his LOVELY habit and showed my respect for the music by buying him a table for his birthday

I feel in love with DnB/Jungle on Valentines weekend 1999 at my first "rave party" ~ "For the Love of Music" listening to Deacon spin.

started listening to techno back in 90-91...when hardcore came about i was hooked...loved the amens and chipmonks...been into it since then...

Back in '95 I was kickin it with friend, neither of us liked jungle/DnB. My friend's roomate played us these dub plates from Reinforced and Metalheads. All I could say was WHAT THE FUCK! On that note remember it's all about the beats, the bass, and the open mind.

I was walking down the street one day bumpin two live cru on in my headphones when all of a sudden:

A black limo Pulled up one day and these doods in black suits jumped out and threw me in the Car. They made me watch Videos of Helicopters Rusted Metal and Circuit Boards over and over again while playing this crazy music with Ill basslines and crazy drum patterns. They told me thier names were Ed Rush, Bad Company, and Trace.

They put this blue gel up my nose and I passed out.

I found myself in an alley, dressed in a black hoody with my head shaved. Since then I have been living on Roof tops and pursuing my life long dream in being a Vigilante.

I stay in during the day, and only come out at night. I know the guys in the black limo are watching so I must make them proud. All life before Jungle is a blur.

in 97 at a club in dc called deep (at the circle) the sound of the british mc and the fast breakbeats blew me away while i was rolling with my friends. then in cali i would go to all the massives and leave my friends to go to the jungle room. when roni size and reprasent dropped in tha mode that hooked me 100 percent for life.

ya 119 cru was one of my early jungle influences too. i fell in love wit it in 97' after seeing Flux & Rinse @ Narnia. i had heard mixtapes and stuff prior to that but Narnia was when i was like "this is it."

Well. some store opened by my house in downey... i only really knew about techno, and i told the guy behind the counter i wanted some fast techno, and he busted out RAW doublepak tape, which i bought and fell in love with...$12 of my allowance man i must have been 13!!

I guess I could say that I've been listening to it since it was called UK hardcore. Pitched up vox samples, hoovers, and breakbeats.

Dara @ GLOW. i wasn't all into going to an all jungle party that night but hey it was $50 and i would get in for free so that was kinda apealing. that and my bf @ the time was into dnb so i went. dara diesel boy and ak1200 were spinning and Dara did it for me. been into jungle ever since. stuff is tight:P.

Oh s**t the masterdome. I used to go to raves and s**t. Then one night at the masterdome I was chilling in the dnb area. Perched up on top of the speaker, I was feeling the music. Then I saw this little ass chick grab ahold of some candy ravers necklace. She ripped it off and swung it in circles above her head, then threw it on the ground and stomped on it.

if i had seent hat little kandi outburst i would have been pissed. i dont like the whole bad ass better than everyone attitude some kinds in hte scene poses. its gay. yeah its fine if yu think your music is better. thats your personal choice, but dissing ppl for theris is lame.
