Like a deep grumblin' from below, Kozee's set comes in with some serious serious bassline business. A hallmark of dubstep is the bass and Kozee's mix continutes this tradition by giving the JBLs a workout for 35 minutes. From the almost methodical big basslines to high energy tunes, this mix encompasses a bevy of dubstep styles and ranges. With tunes from the likes of heavyweights like Headhunter, Tech Itch and SoCal's own 12th Planet each tune is its own fingerprint on this mix. As the SF dubstep machine keeps cranking out quality dubstep talent, this mix is a glimpse in the head of Kozee.
Reggae's pioneering sound and influence on many world musics is widely known and APX-1 lays down a classic set of some of Reggae's most classic songs. Simply put this is the mix to throw on and zone out to. Even if you are not a deeply ingrained reggae head you most certainly will recognize many of the songs, the riddims, the lyrics as many have been imitated, replicated, duplicated, but of course nothing can match the source. The beats will have you grooving and the lyrics come with power behind the words as legendary mcs, singers and toasters bless this set up and down. This set by APX-1 is a must listen for everyone!!!

Re: Back2Back Session Vol. XXV feat. KOZEE b2b APX-1
both these mixes are fire. i had been stressing out (holidays and stuff) getting these two mixes out, but both are fiyah.
FYI to any dubstep head because Kozee didn't seperate artist name, song title and label when she gave me the tracklisting, if there are ANY errors in names or anything please let me know and i will correct...wanna make sure s**t is accurate...
admittedly I am not a big reggae fan but APX-1's mix has been on heavy heavy rotation on my iPod since i got it... |

Re: Back2Back Session Vol. XXV feat. KOZEE b2b APX-1
Spent a lot of time thinking of how I was going to put this mix together. It has somewhat of a message towards the end for our scene out there.
So sit back in your ride or behind your computer and roll a big fat spliff or pack a fat bowl and relax, listen and enjoy a cruise through a small island called "JAMAICA".

Re: Back2Back Session Vol. XXV feat. KOZEE b2b APX-1
From a fan, Alicia, in Spokanne, WA:
"XYZ thank you SO much for this back2back session. It is my favorite one to date hands down. I have every single one, but this one TAKES THE CAKE! Please tell Kozee and APX-1 that they have the mix of 2008 in my book. The dubstep is super fresh and the reggae just has me and my kid bouncing around the house everytime I put it on. Please do a back2back session tour with these and all the djs. The country needs this!!! Viva you and Back2Back Sessions FOREVER!!!!!" |
