i don't like this show either. the only reason i felt compelled to watch this episode was the fact that it discussed (albeit only bad sterotypes of) "rave" culture and he was spinning dnb which you rarely see or hear on TV (unless in a VW or haircolor commercial).

the hubs likes to DVR this sh*t there are always several episodes saved at any given time. i'll take family guy re-runs over this any day

His DJ name is Dr. Doom. I haven't heard of him but my husband said he thinks he's seen the name on a flier once or twice.

I dunno if he posts on JS but i'm happy that the episode ended on a positive note and i wish him the best of luck. it takes a strong person to be able to face their demons in front of the world like that.

Watching it now and it's sad. Some people just dont realize that the music is what comes first and drugs have nothing to do with your success or status. Threats and bad attitude have no place in something that is fun.

Ill say though Mommy hooked him up on that set up.

Yep, watched this last night, I was laughing when I saw all the dnb record sleeves on the wall, while he's getting a light show.

If you watched the episode even without the drugs he was a dick to people, why would anyone want to work with him?

on another note, i always have this weird feeling that i will see a junglist on "TO CATCH A PREDATOR". idk i like that show, am i sick if i laugh and say "OMG" when i watch it??? at least peeps get caught.

I think the way they try and get out of the situation is funny.
What there aiming to do is NOT!
Like, how a 40 yr old dude will roll in with condoms, wine coolers, and vodka to meet a 14 year old girl......THATS HORRIBLE!!!

yea saw the show last night but of course i fell asleep before i could find out what had happend.. in the end

yea he did act like a douche.. esp when he was high and talked about how Dr. Doom is the s**t.. and his mom saying that hes the only one that speaks highly of him as a dj and the only way he got a gig was to take over someone set on while they were on stage playing.. pretty sad..

the giggles during the light show was funny and the fact he was the OLDER guy that hung out with younger kids cuz he was the one with the drugs...

but really sad when no one would call him back to chill with him or give him a ride to the rave and every time he calls his GF she hangs up on him...

Yeah, he had to go back home after like two weeks at the treatment center to finish probation. But he finished the rest in an outpatient progam and moved back home. I guess he's been sober since May 07'.

ehhh, i can't hate on the poor guy, especially while he was dealing with some hard times.

I have to say though, i'm sure everyone that posts on JS knows at least one person that let parties and stuff get the best of 'em or got into the "scene" for reasons other than the music. and i'm also willing to bet that any person reading this thread knows or has heard about plenty of DJs that have that same sort of entitlement / superstar DJ mentality.
SMH.

still crazy to see a Dillinja record sleeve on TV though. who knows, maybe other people watching the show will be curious about jungle and dnb and feel compelled to learn more now that they've been exposed to it (though not cast in the greatest light).

*shrug* i'm an optimist.

That was a lil depressing.
It def felt good to see someone who is into the same music as us realize that he had a problem and was willing to fix it.
That was great!
And im sure he's a great person, it seems that the drugs took over and gave him the dooshy attitude.

Plus ive had friends that have never been the same after using drugs like meth.

I wonder if he still likes dnb?

But did anyone else notice that @ the end it said John has been sober since May 2007? The day he got in the van was April 2nd 2007? Food for thought?

Didn't get to catch you on the show so had to watch it on Youtube. Best one Ive seen in awhile. You seem like a real goodhearted guy that had a few bad breaks that just kept bringing you down. Hope all is well now. Looks like you're getting more exposure with the DJ thing so that is good. Feel bad about some of the negative remarks on here or Youtube but you know that is inevitable. A-holes everywhere always ready to bring you down. I was curious how you felt the show overall has impacted your life and do you get to see your daughter now?

- and a very cultured and well known person in the underground electronic music scene -- we all found it VERY histerical -

on the real - its going to look super weird for anyone and to anyone to have a camera in your face while on fungus and happy pills -

-- con-incided with the opinions and narrations of people that do happen to be my blood family --

-- but do not in any way have an idea of what my life is like -and in all actually havent been close to me in years -

and then cut to seem like I am like - so no friend - no life havin person -
-- after finding out it wasnt "a independent film about dnb in phx" as how they tricked me into tha filming --

I was seriously concerned it would affect my professional reputation and also the last thing would be for people esp women to look at that and think "damn that dude is gross"--
