Ok... so we know that the States has been offering up fine dnb for sometime now. The west coast has been blessed to house many of the best. Here is my question... unsigned or signed who are they.

Stateside only please and post a myspace or link to them if possible

Everyone left out probably the three with the biggest names outside the states: Evol Intent (don't even need to describe how big they are), SPL (Mr. MTV Russia) and Gein (with a release on a little label some of you may not have heard of called MOVING SHADOW). i guess it's easy to forget with so many myspace producers to name drop.

you coulda been a lil more subtle. not everyone mentioned thus far is a "myspace producer" but i hear where you're coming from. also just b/c u may not have anything signed or have a credible name behind you due to tenure does not discount good music i could name a slew of stateside producers besides those mentioned as well but i think the lot who started posting here took it as a s. cali producer list so that's why you're seeing the names that you do

i generally think you are a douche,but you kinda hit the nail on the head, to think that I had to look read 1000 names before seeing Random Movement, Autumn(prophet + Sol.iD), Mathematics you know people that actually get paid to release on vinyl

it just seems to me that the local scene is really insular, or the posters on this site just kinda uninformed about world wide dnb...

if you can only name your friends i think its kinda sad, or if you can rattle off 25 people that have no releases but fail to mention people that have boatloads of releases then what are you playing in your sets??

i don't know if anyone mentioned subsonik, mayhem or saburuko yet

I know that most people were probably automatically thinking of the locals first, but the guy did say "stateside" or "states" three times in the post. I know I'm biased towards SPL and Gein as they are friends of mine and don't expect everyone in the world to know who they are or know they are stateside producers, but I was honestly pretty surprised that no one had even mentioned Evol Intent yet, who I am willing to bet every poster in this thread has seen play at least once, and although I wouldn't consider them my favorite stateside artist, I would no doubt probably put them as the most established stateside act outside of the US (Flipside was a hit all over Europe).

A few more names people forgot (or didn't know were from the states, I can't be too sure):

plus Mocean Worker and Mr. Mendez if you wanna take it old school, and Roxanne and Sage for the ladies...

And as far as So Cal goes, no one even mentioned Gamet or Dave Akuma. Besides Infiltrata, they're the only So Cal dnb artists I have any records by, and I haven't even heard of most of the so cal people listed (or have heard of them but never heard any of their tracks because I wasn't in the bedroom). No one does their homework these days? I'm not even digging deep, this is just off the top of my head, I'm sure I'm missing more.

Don't let it look like the one guy on JS that everyone hates knows more about dnb than the people living it 24/7 up in LA. It's kinda sad when even people who think I'm a douche admit I'm right.

i'm confused..are you trying to prove something to me? i didnt make the comment about the names listed here as being "myspace producers" that was someone else...lol. i support anyone who makes good music regardless if they are signed. and i was just stating the fact that the first few people who posted here were obviously under the impression that this was a list of s.cali based producers. obviously not every s. cali based producer is currently signed.

i really wish i could be spared the arrogance next time i come on this board. just b/c someone didn't list every single stateside producer in existence does not give u the right to claim they lack knowledge. we could probably all list the obvious ones but i reckon the point of this post was to open our eyes to some producers who maybe aren't well known yet but on the brink of coming through.

in any case, i was just listing some stateside guys that are signed, just incase anyone wanted to make the "if you're not signed you don't count argument"

and i agree more than 100% that just because it's signed doesn't make it good - as most of the s**t i really like has never, and will never see a full 12" release

Nobody mentioned DJ Craze...

He has definately produced some sick tunes over the past few years...

and since we are talking about TKDBZ...
Photek has been in LA for years.
I know he is obviously from the UK but if you check rolldabeats.com, he is listed as a Los Angeles based producer.
Plus I think he has a green card=]
