JUNGLE STORY THE ALBUM

Following the success of the single and dancefloor killer "England Story" theres an album out now
it features loads of excellent tracks from many big names in the scene such as Digital, phantasy, shy fx, benny page, majistrate/nicol, modified motion, total science, drumsound/simon bassline + more
back to back with skibadee, shabba, fatman, spyda, ragga twins, CD + more each telling their own stories and experiences within the drum n bass scene through the years!!
This is the first time so many names have been together on one album so trust me when i say this is gonna be BIG!!

Anyone else feel like there needs to be a US version of this tune? I know I've been rockin since 93-94 and would love to rinse something out that reps America's DnB history....

Zezo I'm with you on this. Our side of the ocean needs to be depicted proper, from The Bellmont Tunnel to The Echo Plex....what a crazy journey.

From rooms of 20 heads dancing eratically to The Orange Bowl with 5 thousand frantic DnB supporters brockin out.


PS Quick story down memory lane, when Curious? was a youngster (around 92/early93) and did'nt drive, he would get dropped of on Alvarado Street of the 101, he would hide his record bag under the freeway bridge, run down to The Bellmont Tunnel where the session was in full swing and then get a ride back to get his plates from under the bridge.

That was the birth of LA Jungle for me.
Club Jungle, you just never knew what was gonna happen. Big up to the original promoters with foresight Rudy, Gideon and Joel, ....much love n respect.

Mid 90's for me too...I'm actually
working on a sophmore album right
now with some hiphop/electro and grime/dnb. I would put a banger like that on it for sure. With a grip of dnb emcees rocking 10 bars each, repping the states. Especially w/ that w. coast underground, downtown LA, next to the freeway, afraid for your life flavor. If anyone's interested in a collab, JSM.

This has been long overdue been around the L.A jungle scene since earlie 90's. Much respect to those who have held it down. looking forward with much anticipation. This migth just ignite interest and let all L.A pay tribute to the Los Angeles O.G Junglist.

I can remember being in Denver in like 92-93 and we started throwing a party called Plastic...we split the night: 1/2 house (from 10-12), 1/2 jungle (from 12-2)...we used to MAYBE get 10-20 heads in...went from that to approx 200/week consistently and really laid the foundation for every DnB DJ and MC that followed us out of Denver...

I remember seeing Phantom 45, Darren Jay, Bill Riley, the whole TOV camp, etc back then and being like OMG..WOW we're so lucky!

mad love goin out to the whole So What!/Step On crew: DJ Aztek, K-knee, Style-n-Fashion for having the heart to push a new ting in a place known for House...

If it was a collabo tune, it should feature 8 bars, 2 MCs a verse, from each MC repping each coast or major market here in US...while LA is running tingz right now, any attempt to omit or ignore another major scene would cause strife & resentment amongst our scenes...and this record should deffo be a unifier...

Otherwise, I think it would be DOPE to answer this ALBUM, with a STATESIDE version of our individual jungle stories...and then team up with these guys to release it as a double pack or maybe as Vol 2 in a worldwide jungle stories series....

You're thinking BIGGER. I respect that. In reference to the w. coast thing. I just meant what we would bring to the table style wise. I just spoke to by boy yesterday from the Fast(E) coast. He would love to be involved with something like this. 8 bars/2 emcees for the complete 16, give or take a couple for those who have a strong finish =]. Macbooks and protools are locked and loaded. I'm down to help finance it and can block some time in whittier at a plush/posh spot for post production.

hmmm...deffo down to try and make this happen, tho the timing right now is no bueno...I'm in the midst of some contract negotiations that involve a corporate relocation to SF, so I wouldn't be able to focus on something like this until after July....

That being said, if a tune is selected as the instro for this, I have ProTools, etc @ home, so I can deffo lay down vox and send the session files via FTP or some other method for completion...

July's better, more creative juices marinating for a bit. I think there's a few solid producers just on JS alone that would be down. What would be dope is to do a few tracks that could be mixed and have several emcees and producers rep their regions. Kinda like a mixed tape vibe with quality production value. Either way I'm down. I got fam in SF, I'm supposed to go visit in a few weeks.

That is true but here it is simple can you imagine the heat. The number of artist to involve. Man the U.S is a huge country. This sounds like a double LP.

Could always do it up Reggae/Dancehall stylee and pick one riddim and have everybody down with the project record their respective versions and then put that out ala Greensleeves or any of the Riddim Driven series...

Might be 45 tracks on that CD, but the standout joints will shine on their own...

The Jungle Book
