btw I am not saying I'm not voting as ever election year I post tons f bulletins saying I am deleting all non voters etc.. but the sudden politicization of the masses has left me with the taste of terminator and I don't like it.

voters are not supposed to be a subculture, lots of retards out there, but motivating people to vote may be a collective small step in some sort of direction except backwards.

props are huuuge this year, as they are every year, it's just that this time we have some that can either set us on a path to progressive ideals, or old world stagnant muck. It's about improving the our contry in microscopic baby steps of value changes.

ehh.. the apathy I have witnessed over a lifespan has created cynicism that will not easily go away. I know I will fight for a better tomorrow but I doubt the attention span of a majority of voters will last longer than a month...
what will they proactively do for tomorrow other than voting?

I can't believe i am amped to stand in a 2+ hour line tomorrow. Downloading the new T.I. CD and new iPod Apps for my wait (i am such a dork i downloaded one on the entire Constitution and Important American speeches...jeezus i need friend or something, ha).

I dig the cynicism. How can you not be jaded after the last 200+ years, it is a commentary on the state of things that I rejoice or see hope in such small gestures of intelligence. People are tools, but the little steps in the right direction are better than the small steps in the wrong direction.

I don't really care if voting is the hip trendy thing to do this month. If it excites people about the political process and gets them to think even a little for once in their apathetic lives I say Hooraaaaayyy! Most of them are a bunch of tools and may vote for things I don't agree with, voter fraud will probably happen again, I don't trust the system either, but at least they got off their asses and tried it out.

I for one opted not to mail in my ballot because I am a total nerd and enjoy the act of voting. It gives me an empowered feeling for a day despite the fact that its a drop in the bucket. I always wanted to vote when I was a kid and had to stand in line with my parents. They wanted me to experience it with them and now I want to experience it with my fellow citizens.

i took care of it first thing this morning. my precinct wasn't too bad, but i know the one down the street had at least an hour long line at 8 am when i went to get my coffee afterwards (hey i got up early and voted, i deserved a reward right?).

but they didn't give out i voted stickers here oh well. i'm happy i got it done, even if the older lever pull machine took me five minutes in my morning fog to figure out.

IF i vote today, it will be the first time in 20 years.
and if you know me, you cant call me apathetic.
Fed up and disgusted is more where i'm at.

There is no real choice here - but don't get fooled by all the Hope.

Until there is a fundamental structural, cultural and ideological rupture,
it's just 'meet the new boss same as the old boss.'

I'm not saying that some things wont get better...just having an intelligent articulate president will be a plus. I'm optimistic that there
will be a wave of social changes and awaking of political awareness...
IF Obama wins. Except one thing that people will learn soon enough is that
black faces in high places won't change things that much. In fact, its more looking like a case of a wolf in sheep's clothing. But lets see what happens.

Here on the Westside there is this unwritten etiquette which states that if you speak to your neighbors your head will explode, in fact if you even smile at them you will turn to stone. I hate it. Its so lame I can't stand it.

Somehow the act of voting has trumped this etiquette. I got a "hello good morning" from more people in my hood today then I have in the last year. In fact I actually had a *gasp* CONVERSATION with a few people who live near me! I wish it was like this every day!

my neighborhoods always been a bit more friendly, but today it was awesome. i got stopped three times on my way back from getting my coffee after i voted and asked if i had already. lines were already 100 deep at the polling places in my hood around 830 am (which are only a few blocks apart because of the population density). i remain optimistic and hopeful.

The energy today is electric!!!! Everyone can feel it. I too have noticed more hellos, more smiles and friendly nods.... we are all in this together!!! It is truly truly exciting.

I voted nice and early today as well, with three precincts in the same building, there were two huge lines that I stood in for about 30 seconds, until a Poll Worker came and told me I was supposed to be in the "yellow room", where there were about FIVE people waiting. Score! I got my vote in and still made it to work on time.

The energy in that place and the excitement of getting that vote in was super emotional for me. But I usually feel energy in an emotional way... Getting ready this morning I was singing and dancing around the house, practically in tears of excitement and joy at what can be - and when I punched that last vote in, I totally welled up. lol. What a great feeling to be a part of this important and historical election!!


ps- Starbucks is giving away a FREE tall drip coffee to everyone sporting an "I Voted" sticker. Just got mine and yum!!

The line was super long this morning...about 200 people I would say. But standing in that line for an hour and a half was worth it. Everyone in line was excited about today, taking pictures and video.

I can't wait for the effing results tonight!!!
