Taking place at a prominent L.A. mansion on December 20, 2008, is a Private “Friends to Family” Networking Party that’s bringing back hip hop trend-setters, Total Devastation and electronic music pioneers, Altern-8. World-class musicians like the Handroids, Spictakular, Midnite Theory, Spinobi and DJ Xist will play live funk, hip-hop, and electronic music including showcases of turntablism at this for-charity Winter Solstice gathering benefiting numerous social issues, environmental issues, and the MPP.org. The Winter Reunion features live art demonstrations and exhibitions by the Museum of International Street Art; b-boys, firedancers, raffles and giveaways by a selection of clothing companies
Guests can enjoy headliner performances on the main stage by artists like hip-hop band Midnite Theory, hip-hop acts like Son Doobie and Detane, legendary beat boxer Kris Jung, and renowned DJs like Boston George, DJ Eva, cLEVER DJ, and aLiEn DJ. The VIP area lineup includes leaders of the electronic movement like Jason Blakemore and J-Splat, followed by back-to-back performances by prominent L.A. DJs like DJ Subflo, Jughead, Basskick, Clutch, Scooba, and Biomass.

I'm there and bought the 1st ticket online
Mark Archer and Chris Peat aka Nexus 21 aka Altern 8 have a special place in my heart (and my record shelves) - beyond classic, they raised the bar and had a lot of influence on the scene at the time
I do have a boatload of their vinyls-still need a couple- I did find one at a descent price recently and have wanted it for years
the label reads:

ahh man altern8! these fools were hardcore and junglists before any of those names came to be...
hope i can make it since they (and that sound) have been a huge part of my life since the early 90's
