Pendulum to Make National Late Night TV Debut Tonight, November 10th on Last Call with Carson Daly
Kicking-off Carson’s new POV Series

New York, NY — Pendulum will make their national late night TV debut tonight, November 10th on Last Call with Carson Daly. This will be a first in more than one way as the show will be airing a live performance of the band’s single “Propane Nightmares” shot at one of their recent sold out US tour dates. Apparently Carson Daly is a big fan of the band and when he found out that the show was dark while they were in LA, he decided to do something unprecedented…

We’re starting a new series on the show called POV where instead of bringing a band to the studio, we send a team of shooters to a show and capture a band in their live environment from a fan’s point of view. I kept hearing from friends about Pendulum’s incredible live shows during this past summer’s European festivals and when our schedules didn’t work out for them to appear live in our studio, I figured they’d be the perfect band to kick off the POV series. – Carson Daly

In addition, their first US single “Propane Nightmares” is on its way to charting in the US as the commercial radio story not only builds, but takes off. “Propane Nightmares” has already hit the Furious 5 @ 9 at KROQ after less than two weeks and is also getting great reaction at KNDD – Seattle. The momentum from the stations that added the song first has brought on board a slew of new stations including new adds at WFNX in Boston, KRBZ in Kansas City, and new airplay at WRFF Philadelphia, 91X San Diego, and more…

This national late night TV debut and the radio story come on the heels of Pendulum’s incredibly successful first ever tour of the Americas. The band just completed a 15 date headlining tour or the Americas which included sold out shows at the Middle East Downstairs in Boston (650), Kool Haus in Toronto (1750), Bluebird Theatre in Denver (600), The Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles (1300 people on a Monday) and Webster Hall in New York (1400). It was evident that fans had been anticipating this US tour since their first taste of the band live at Coachella 2008 and news of their overseas success had been flooding in over the past several months.

Pendulum continues to surpass all expectations with their incredible live show and undeniable talent. The band is currently on a headlining tour of Europe, then off to the UK, Australia and Japan before heading back to the US.

people are going to have to get used to the fact that Pendulum is big, and they have move passed DNB. i understand its like some of you feel that you have been betrayed, maybe even broken hearted....but to say that they haven't done good for them selves is just ignorant....

so they don't play dnb...they did.. a lot of us did to, and we have moved on, just in a different way then they did.. how many dnb producers are getting a lot more love in the electro scene?? they are just getting it in the rock scene.

im happy for them... they love what they are doing and s**t, thats really all that matters.
the backpackers will always hate for them not being 'dnb enough'...

oh well..
i wont watch, but im sick of people hating on Pendulum for doing what they love... i mean...thats all we are all doing right... ??

i just watched the show and as someone who listens to D&B i can honestly say that if i had never heard of Pendulum before the show i wouldn't have associated their performance (of Propane Nightmares) with drum & bass music in any way. it just sounded like some random rock band.

i can see how some rock fans might have enjoyed it though.

Your point is correct, this is a different genre of music that they have spun off into, to think that they are taking all of dnb with them is ridiculous.

I don't think people are expressing feelings of betrayal, seems a bit dramatic. I think that people who are voicing their opinions, just don't like the tunes, or the image being presented, which is now being crammed down our throats as "the future!"

So I agree unit, we need to view this as a progression or step in a different direction, yes it has elements that we can build off of in dance-floor dnb but if this is going to be the bench mark for popular dnb then its my opinion we are following the wrong gods.


That being said, you cant deny the amount of people dancing,and thats awesome, they just need to understand, that this product they are being presented with is a streamlined hybrid of dnb and mtv.

MC hammers cd was in the 'hip hop' section at sam goody, didn't make it true.

just saw it on dvr and i think anybody who just saw that was wondering what kind of dance the people were doing, what's with these mc's and dj's and their accents & whats with that fast big beat? i knew the masses would eventually get fed up with all the new crap coming out lately and finally demand something better musically. this can only be good for the drum & bass industry. seems like people are getting their panties all up in a bunch over what pendulum's doing and it's just music, puts smiles on peoples' faces and gets them dancing. can't think of anything really better than that.. h8 h8 h8 h8 :yawn:

Very well put Unit I def agree. This is the classic case scenario of people that blew up but somehow arent "keepin it real" by some peoples standards. Its like the underground hiphop group that finally got a hit single and now there not "underground" enough for the hardcore backpackers. When I was younger I kinda had this perspective but as the years have passed I have def changed the way I view artists and the music industry as a whole. I am happy for pendulum that they have been able 2 reach this kind of achivement cause in the end isnt that what most of us strive for? Some people struggle there whole lives and never reach this level. If u never wanna break out of the box then keep having this distorted view of what dnb should be while the rest are touring and recording and making there way towards what they want. Its people that dont want dnb 2 be big that make me dislike some of the image it puts off. Maybe pendulum isnt doing what u would call dnb or jungle right now for this new crowd but I would def belive they will make more people aware of it and that is good and healthy for ANY SCENE.

you have a good point, but I would like to think people will be able to figure it out. I think overall it opens people up to the idea that electronic music and this tempo in particular is accessible and not just for "ravers" or whatever...once that door opens, people will find what they like or want. I hope.

maybe they felt like they weren't achieving their potential with dnb and got frustrated with it. i doubt they're never gonna make another dnb tune

also, carson's daly's new segments is about concerts, i don't really see where the topic of dnb would have even fit in that very short convo.
