Haha, that's the gallery right underneath my place. I saw the big DISNEY signs go up last week and thought it was going to be a cool exhibition, but now that APX-1 is on the decks, hell, it's a party. =P

It said on the flyer, for Opening night of an art exhibit coinciding with a Toy release,
"A Colaboration of Disney and contemporary street artists showcase their vision of an American Icon."
I didn't make it last night, (work), but definetely want to check it out this weekend.
Anybody go? Apx how was it?

og graff(chattin w/CHAZ(legend)) tight art ... great music ala APX1, Phear for a bit oh yeah it was catered with an open bar ...dimes beyond the average, and for me peeps from more than one of the circles of my being. .. and no it wasn't ragga all nite, actually it was a great blend of music as well as culture. too bad yall missed

This show was super tight and the vibe was just right. All of the artwork is on another level and out of this world. This was an idea that my boy came up with that has now become a huge success. It was a real experience working for Disney at this release party. I came up with the perfect set that ranged from Classic Billie Holiday, B-Boy Breaks, Brazillian House & Funk, African Tribal Beats, Reggae, Liquid D&B, LA Underground Hip Hop, and of course some Classic Reggae Anthems. It was a blast playing all of these different styles and making them work well with each other. You have no idea how hard it was to make sure that there were no curse words, drug related, or any inappropriate references. Now that was a mission in itself. lol Also dont want to leave out a thank you to my special guest party time dj Mr. Sucio that decided to take an elevator down a couple floors from his house to join us and rock it in the same building. Now that was classic. Oh Yeah So Im now available for Weddings, Quinceaneras, and Bar Mitzvahs. hahahahaha

Definitely one of the better shows I've seen down in that gallery. The other night was great, complete with all the perks Kemst mentioned. Gotta love free booze, sammiches, music and art! Thanks to APX-1 for having me throw down for an hour. |
