I love Horizons music, but....
The lead track from the Horizons Music album "Dreamthief" is the song "Alone" by Unknown Error.
Which is an uncredited bootleg of "Splittr - All Alone", one of the biggest dance tracks of 2007.
Insanely good bootleg, but I think it's pretty s**t to take a huge club track, nick the entire thing, speed it up, and release it on an album as original material. Tsk Tsk. Horizons is a better label than that, and Unknown Error should know better than to release other people's material as their own. If I'm missing something please inform me as to my mistake, but this appears to be the way it's rolling out...The only way this would be acceptable in my view is that the vocals were stolen in the first place (doubtful) or that Splittr gave Unknown Error the stems but didn't want any credit (Even more doubtful).

Well thats the prob , you and everyone will play it anyways . I know i would too, i love Horizons but that sounds a bit fishy .
also - ur a talented guy , u should rinse ur own bootleg of it and say eff their version.

isnt horizons also the same label that did about 100 remixes of aspect's 'its yours', not once releasing the original, nor paying the artists for half of the music on the label. i dont know but theres a pretty heated thread on doa about it. |

there was a bunch of drama over this tune being released as Unknown Error, after they had split up and Apex started doing his own thing.

i do agree - sometimes u hear a ripped tune and your jaw drops .. but wait a minute...isnt this kind of "sampling" a major part of the whole shady music buiz??? i mean come on...from jazz blues rock hip hop all the way to electro jungle dubstep- half of the big tunes we know on the radio or in the underground were ripped off in some way.. nature of the nasty beast we all love |

If I thought sampling was just straight up ripping something off, I wouldn't love dance music as much as I do. But, I think there's a difference between sampling something, cutting it up and manipulating the f**k out of it to use it as an element of your own original song, and retaining the original idea for the mostpart and just making a dnb remix of... i don't know, a trance tune called All Alone by Splittr.
Like, do you think anyone would have posted this type of argument about the tune Screw Up by Ewun. I don't. |
