Are you a junglist???
Recently a fellow member of junglescene commented that due to the fact that i listen to house (and occasionally spin it) that I am not a true junglist; that to be a junglist, one must completely dedicate themself to only jungle musicand deny all else that they might enjoy...
I listen to house, hip-hop, progressive, classical, breaks, soul, jazz, trip-hop, independent, and probably more right along with the abundance of dnb i blast through my speakers on a daily basis. I think it's the complete lifestyle that defines you as a part of this community, it's far more than what music you listen to... in that regard, i do consider myself a junglist due to the attitude by which i conduct my life. |

I'm a junglist, technoist, candy kid, houser, hip hop killa, herbalist, kung fuist, aquafinaist, and a grasshoppaist.
Okay..maybe not most of those. I just love music...and that includes a lot of different types, I really don't like to discriminate too much against different genres. All music is important because most of it influences another style one way or another. |

im a junglsit ive been listing to i tfot years sence 95 and i spin jungle..but my heat is heavy metal i was in a number of bands in my day..i also spin house, uk garage, and hardcor tecnho for the fun of it.i like all styles of music cuz when i start to produce my inflences will come out in the music....
its good to listen to other types of music and spin other types its just fun and a different way of seeing other types of music |

Jungle has always been based upon the inclusion of many different forms/styles of music. A lot of samples were/are from old house, hip hop,classical,techno,etc., etc.A lot of producers make different genres under different aliases, and some even under the same name. Jus sayin'... |

Well who knows, labels suck anyway. I'm into jungle but you couldn't tell by looking at me (maybe because I'm just as into classic rock/indie/hip hop). It really just depends on my mood. But I don't like people telling me what I am or aren't. Fuck that. |

i think that the lamest thing about our community is that people in it feel the need to be more of a junglist than anyone else. In my opinion it doesn't matter how much camo you where, how many jungle records you own, or "if you listen to it exclusively". Being a junglist has to do with your love of the music. Bottom line.
