A little reminder to everyone on this site:

I think it's time for the less useful and productive among us to do a little reading.
An old post i made in november

------------------------------------------
Hey, If you are gonna use JS to talk s**t and just cause problems.

GET THE FUCK OUT

This music means too much to me to have your newbie, poser asses messing up the Los Angeles DnB scene with your petty bickering.

Why don't you do something productive like:

-Promote a Club
-Support your locals by going to see them PLAY rather than going to clubs to determine who you are going to f**k next
-Learn to mix
-Review parties and clubs in an intelligent manner
-Go to dnb Events and DANCE

- if you can't do any of the above, and would rather spend your time cruizing the clubs for ass and talking s**t online, please either shoot yourself in the face, or never come to ANY dnb event ever again.
I am tired of these f**king KIDS who have NO resepct for electronic music, coming out and f**king with what should be the STRONGEST dnb culture in the nation.

Go away and die, in any order you choose

You know who you are

Origin
---------------------------------------

now, my new post

When you are done with that, let's have a little conversation:

1. You didn't invent drum and bass. Fuck this, "I have dub plates and i have been around for x number of years, f**k ravers, etc." attitude. Those who do the most flapping their gums about how tight theit s**t is are usually the worst. When you talk like that, you are making it OBVIOUS that you are new school as f**k. Edit: Being new to electronic music is NOT a bad thing, it's a great thing! my comment here has to do with people trying to act like they have been around forever, thereby defeating the entire point of their actions! s**t, everyone is new at one time or another.. =)

2. Don't comment on s**t you don't know about. If you haven't seen a DJ play, don't diss. If you haven't heard somone's tunes, big or small, don't talk s**t.

3. Just because you make dnb doesn't mean you are super cool.
Take me for example, do you think ANYONE outside of the dnb scene has ANY f**king idea who i am or what i do? NO! why? cause in the grand sceheme of things, i don't mean s**t. I'm simply a producer/dj, that's it. I like music. Some of you would benefit from a smack in the face by humility.

4. How about trying to learn about older forms of DnB/Techno rather than just saying blanket statements on how old stuff is either all bad or all good. your malice will be better misdirected elsewhere.

5. Think before you speak. Lots of impressionable paople read this board, and when people say s**t, they believe it.

This is the last time i am posting like this. If you want to run your scene into the ground, i'm not gonna stand by and watch.

just know what yer sayin b4 u say it.
La's history is very unique to the rest of world.
I would hate to see that lost or changed by an epidemic of status hungry turds that dont know dont care and probably dont really feel this s**t anyhow.
at the same time its important to know that no one is trying to give an elitist attitude.
in no way should we feel the need to make nu peeps feel outofplace or "if u dont know u dont belong" kinda bulls**t

we all do our own thing. each time you step in the "house" you are contributing to the scene in that moment in time. memories are reflections of your contribution which constitute a virtual scene. it's your's to hold, cherish and respect. mold it into what you can look back on when you're old and be able to say "Damn, we did make a difference".

If are going to criticize, be constructive. Point the negative, yet shed light on the positive and if you have knowledge, give pointers.

Ryan you inorant slut!

If not for sheepish socialites you'd have no one to look down on. Its absolutely no fun at all trowing urine ballons from your ivory tower if theres no one for them to land on. I suggest you add "space under coffin big enough for cock sucking dj whore" to your artist rider and just give in to your "progressive" yearnings.

Re: A little reminder to everyone on this site:

i agree with deacon. My tone is a bit harsh because i see everything going in a really unhappy direction right now.

I think the quote at the end of his post says everything that needs to be said. That said, im no longer gonna post on the state of the scene anymore. I do everything i can myself, and i will continue to do so.

And yes Largehuman, you are correct. haha

Re: A little reminder to everyone on this site:

agreed and it'd be more than nice for some of the big wigs to take a second or two and listen to some of the tracks coming out of the newbie pool and lend us a hand, offering some solid criticism/feedback, maybe helping to breathe a little life into our own local scene. who knows what could develop? seems like lots of people too worried about holding their position and making sure no one "comes up"... honestly though, not everyone wants to "come up"... some just want the scene to _progress_ while enjoying the beats played by our local djs -- it's such a business, though...

Re: A little reminder to everyone on this site:

the jungle scene is a constantly evolving work in progress...we must keep in mind that the scene is based on music. as soon as we eliminate the attitude so many people display we can continue furthuring the art that we all claim to love. its just so hard to do when theres so many two faced people fronting like they care purley because it gives there shallow lives a purpose... this isn't high school people! take your drama and dirty looks elsewhere. i'm here to listen to music.

Re: A little reminder to everyone on this site:

on the common topic of "argument"...

some people think this word denotes negativity but not everybody. i know socrates' philosophy was that of dialectic tactic (sharing ideas with others and taking their feedback into consideration). when there is a thought it's called a thesis and the flipside to that thought is the antithesis. in arguing, a synthesis of these two thoughts is formed, if people are open-minded enough to consider something different. however, some people's thesis or antithesis is so strong that no matter what you say they won't change their mind.

these people tend to get really defensive because their opinions are so important to them and they just can't realize that other peoples' opinions are important to them as well. one person might think other peoples' thoughts are ignorant, but ignorant is a very relative word.

i'm really trying to be less defensive about what other people think, because all it is is what they think, nothing more. if you share an opinion and someone responds to it, you should respect them for responding, whether their response is negative or positive.

i know personally, most of the people i tend to argue with are people i respect but they just don't understand it. actually, about 95% of people i respect on this site i respect. those 5% represent people i think are stupid.

i always want to learn from what people have to say. i think everybody can learn from everybody and everybody can teach everybody about certain things. i know you can learn from some people how to be and from other people how not to be. also, some people like to play devil's advocate on here, so please decrease the hate! i wish i could have a signature that says "in my opinion" at the end of every post i make cuz some people take this too damn seriously.

Re: A little reminder to everyone on this site:

Word Trox. Hopefully all of us never stop learning. And like peteg2 said, maybe we can also be open to others' dissenting viewpoints as well. Just be aware that it helps if those viewpoints are presented in a calm, rational manner rather than off the cuff bashing. I've had some really evil s**t said to me here and sometimes it is just best to leave it alone rather than argue with it. Probably noone is immune from this.

I've never met Origin in person but he's always been an approachable guy online, and I respect him for that, which is why I take his comments seriously.

People... we need to realize in the grand scheme of things that this scene isn't the end all of everything. All the stupid s**t and drama that is fought over really won't make a difference in the long run...so let's try not to fight over it, which splinters us apart making us less powerful. I guess this is a bit idealistic but it's something to shoot for. I will try my best despite my own mistakes to do the same.
