my first piece of vinyl wasn't that great.....probably cause I was new to the scene and didn't know s**t!
but it was: G-SQUAD - Headbanger/Second Time
Cold Steel Recordings
I got it at Higher Source in Huntington....I was STOKED!!!!!!!
Then, after that I didn't have anything to mix with so I bought the "ARMAGEDDON" 7-pack off Renegade Hardware for something like $21.99 (plus tax and shipping which the total came to about $30)
Pretty good deal huh? |

First piece of vinyl ever purchased was when I was five years old ... a little 7-inch/45rpm with the Star Wars Theme song on the a-side and the Cantina Song on the flip - still got it!
As if that doesn't give away my age .. I remember joining Columbia House when it was still a vinyl and cassette club!! You know ... buy 12 for a penny and only buy three more in the next year ... (ouch!)
I was a vinyl junkie (albeit it centered around o.g. funk-era Prince and Billy Idol, etc.) right out the nutsack thanks to my dad who was the original vinyl junkie in my family. |

Yeah nobody knows this but my dad at 1 point ran San Diego's 2nd Largest Mobile DJ service in the early 80's ha ha. I only wish he handed down his records to me. He did give me "Rock, Skate, Roll, Bounce" and "Look out Weekends" though........
oh yeah and since everyone is listing their first piece of Vinyl as a child mine was "DISNEY'S SCARY SOUNDS" full of howel's screams cries and grunts......maybe spawning the young junglist roots.....Ha |

The first piece of vinyl I bought as an adult was Bob Marley's Kaya (for my daughter). Actually, it was given to me byt some really good old-school friends. Then I bought a small ammount of trance and house.
Thr first dnb records I bought were Kemal's Animation (architecture) and Echo Effect (Vinyl Syndicate) for the life of me, I cn't remember who the artist is right now. |
