What keeps you being a DJ???
I know everyone has : Not payed, Bump slots, stolen records, bad sound, non-1200's, busted party, harassed by cops, shady promoters, etc..........
What keeps you in the game? Why do you DJ? What keeps the fire burning? Please be honest

well in my short time I would say that its just hooking up a proper mix and dropping a track that you love that keeps me going...I'll get back to you in five years though

to tell you the truth, dj-ing is the only thing that keeps me sane. i can take all my emotions and focus them into music, whether they be emotions of happiness or even anger. the music reflects how i feel. it is life, some people have sports, i have dj-ing. the ultimate release is scratching for a couple hours.... ahhh, the life of the dj. |

The energy it creates....
The fact that I am capable of bringing people together to dance and forget about all thier worries....!
I really want to do this full time, create music and play it for people, that would be the most fulfilling....I havn't gotten there yet sssooo I wont stop till I get there...

Curiosity = I am always so curious who is going to play what, and if its a new track that I havent heard. Then I am just itching to see what new methods or sounds the producer is using! So truth be known, I love it and it consumes my every thought. |

I've only done house parties but the thing that wants me to contintue to do this and not ever stop would have to be the manipulation of the crowds reaction. You become in almost everybody's mind. I'm more serious than ever in this game. |

for sure the music. and theres this one thing i just wanna be able to see, you know how when someone puts on a sick track and they drop it just right and how everybody gets all crazy and starts dancing and having fun, i wanna be able to make and see a crowd have that much fun just through my music. |

I DJ to get my FIX.......Im addicted to music! The Futuresound especially I build it up, strip it down, create, disect, mix, blend, cut and scratch......everything is related to some sort of beat....I cant turn off the radio unless its on count........I wanna sample everything.......I ask myself "pay bills or buy records" and buy records......in other words
I have no choice this jungle ting is part of me and Im part of it.......

The music, mainly.. the fact that music is akin to pieces in a puzzle and djing is making the pieces fit to complete the picture, which never fully happens by way of the different and challenging ways of completing a set and remaining inspired by new music.
The crowd and pleasing the people is another reason, I love nothing more than watching people enjoy themselves to something I fully believe in.
Then the camaraderie with other djs and sharing the passion for what we do, being inspired by other good djs - lastly, the moneda.. thats the bonus, getting paid for what you love to do. With the combination of things I mentioned above, how can I not "stay in the game" |
