We just got the Japanese reissue of Resist w/ a 16 track bonus disc.

I'm diggin' it, but that's besides the point, I want to know what you guys think. So what's up, let's here the voice of the public.

i dunno what others think, but i like 2 or 3 of their tunes - but theyre perilously close to stepping over the line into bog-average commercial dance. ooh.

its pop with a drum n bass influence, in my opinion. kinda like everything but the girl's walking wounded album. although i haven't listened to resist in awhile, i think its a good album.

but the thing that sets bands apart from others is stage performance, and that is where kosheen has taken the cake so far, for me. sian can hold her own.

I feel that KOSHEEN will continue to help push D&B to a wider audience..

Doecoder and Substance are on to something here.... They have had thier day in the underground and they can rawk a underground tune any time!

The next logical step is to present a mainstreamesque project under another name and ride it for as long as they can...

I think they are going to open doors for many budding producers and dj's in the D&B subculture!!!

Yeah she can hold her own and she's gorgeous to boot.

'Hide U' was voted #1 single @ the last DnB awards.

Commercialized-
I feel ya on that one, but honestly I believe that was the mission of the Kosheen project- to produce vesatile enough beats that will be enjoyed by the old-school and the rookies. Kind of like what I see Shy FX doing but a little less pop/r&b.

I never thought on Resist as a D&B cd actually. It is probably my favorite cd right now though. Sian's words and voice have carried me through some tough times. And I havent heard production so amazing in a long time.

I am awaiting their new cd (should be out this year) with high expectations.

yeah, i dig 'em. as far as being commercialized, i think a lot of it has to do with Sian. think about it. many drum and bass tracks crossover to the mainstream based on their marketability. the female vocals in certain songs appeal to many people who wouldn't dig drum and bass normally. plus, another cool thing about Kosheen is that their style is very diverse. while they incorporate dnb into many of their songs (um hello, remember who's IN the band, afterall!) like "demonstrate" and everybody's favorite, "hide you", they also attempt to experiment with other styles of music as well, and for the most part, are still successful, imo.

kosheens dope, however too much vocals on dnb gets tierd after awhile, but the drumz are bangin'

decoder & substance are f**kn bad!

decoder - fuse came out in 96' , that s**t still bangs, i think dis guy was ahead of his time, "fog" & "circut breaker" & "dead calm" are classics to me

i like "hide u" & "demonstrate" but some of their stuff is pretty pop like. im pretty sure that was they're goal so thats dope. they're pretty diverse. tracks like "resist" & "i want it all" sound more like trip hop to me than anything else...

in england a lot of people don't really accept kosheen as d&b, but then it has got a reputation as the most elitist genre of music on the planet.

She's not a fecking model, she's an artist and a damn good one, and just like cleo said "everyone asshole's" thing is true but, damn homie I think you're being a little harsh on your judgement. Your opinion though, but I'm sure we could start a space consuming arguement on what makes a person beautiful, like js has done so many times.
