haha, props kate, you rock... but just to clarify a bit, Proper is about freeform riddims (i.e. just about anything: hiphop, dancehall, roots, jungle, breaks, funk, soul, afrobeat, latin, electro, house, etc. etc.)
yet we feature 2-step and broken beat as the main focus.

We've been getting a lot of great responses for Saturday, March 8th's event aptly entitled "The Unborn." We'd now like to take a step further and give you a bit more info as to what we hope to bring you. The lineup should speak for itself, but we'll indulge a bit anyhow. =)
When approached for the booking at this party, each DJ was given some key words as to what type of vibe was being sought after. These included, but were not limited to:
"Headcase : Mental : Deep"
Basically, what you will be getting is a look into each of these DJ's minds that you may not be able to hear at most any other party/club. It's almost as if they'll be institutionalized for one night, their brains picked apart and displayed in a room of great sound. Just exactly what those key words spawn in each DJ is the most exciting part to us. Whether they'll go mellow and rollin', hard n bangin' or just straight out demented remains to be heard.
As for the name itself; it's rather simple. What's the best way to describe the future other than being "unborn?"
