Re: War and the dnb scene/culture...........
I think the tone of drum n bass will go darker to reflect the moods of many producers in regards to nation/world events...or maybe a complete flip, that the music will become an escape from pressure of nation/world events thus being more upbeat.
Look @ the great music that resulted from the Vietnam and post Vietnam eras. Definately something to keep the eye on. |

Re: War and the dnb scene/culture...........
hopefully we will all even be around to see how jungle/drum&bass is affected by war. some people think that might be ridiculous to say, but bombs will be launched and people will die, there is no 100% gaurantee that it will not be us dying, fact. I would love too see jungle/drumnabss a bit more on the revolutionary tip, i mean s**t sample mumia, or howard zinn once in a while, people need to hear the truth.

Re: War and the dnb scene/culture...........
What about financially? People are getting laid off left and right, people are leaving to go fight the war, and people just have less money in general. Times are tough, I hope we all pull through this so our scene can flourish. It's on the up and up now, I'd hate to see it end. |

Re: War and the dnb scene/culture...........
I would hope people could come together a bit more during these times and quit the bulls**t bickering. Looking at things globally & nationally things are pretty messed up right now so we should take this much smaller thing in comparison (our jungle scene) and make it like a eutopia...like an escape from all the bulls**t. The vibes at parties should get a lot better in these times. People should be more friendly and dance more, because like Canoe said our time COULD be limited (but I hate to think like that). |

21st centry warfare will be nothing more than a reality show sponsored by DC Shoes er some corporate conglomerate like coca cola. it will be a loose cover for the imperialistic game that it already is. all us slobs will go to gigs n bob our heads because we're programmed to. i.e. nothing will change, except there'll be more commercials.. as always. but no new taxes! |

Re: War and the dnb scene/culture...........
Historically war = stronger economy. What would make technology and heavy industrial stocks rise more than a need for their services?
Look at the amount of people who went out during the Clinton era. Why, it seemed like everybody was ravin' in 2000. War will create jobs. Uneducated 420guy420guy junglers who don't have jobs will be given opportunities to screw bolts on to bombs and sweep factory floors. They'll start paying for clubs because they have more than $1.74 and a sack of anal sex in their pockets. Why, for the dnb scene war is a good thing.
BTW, international dj's will still face the same scrutiny they have faced since 9/11. Its not like a British citizen is going to face any more or less scruitiny with a war going on. |

Re: War and the dnb scene/culture...........
this "Scene" doesn't mean jack s**t when so many lives are at stake...
it's a f**king WAR and people are worried about how it will affect dnb clubs?!?!!?!?
what the hell?!!?
don' t you think that all the lives of the people in the scene are a million times more important than the scene itself and us going to clubs??
of course we need the outlet in this time of madness...but the human beings are much more important than the clubs...

"it's a f**king WAR and people are worried about how it will affect dnb clubs?!?!!?!?"
just my point about it all being a reality show sponsored by DC shoes. the average american slob couldnt care less if some innoncent peeps bought it in Iraq. we're programmed to see them as the enemy, remember? cuz they blew up some trade building er something in chicago er something. and "historically" war = strong economy for the imperialist invaders, not the invaded. n whats this nonsense about installing a puppet government in Iraq? lets review history: that didnt work in Panama, Vietnam, where else kids? |
