Re: VIP remixes
VIP doesnt mean its a better remix...it just means its exclusive compaired to what other people have or whats been released....
and vip's are done by the original artists....so lame when someone try to say its a vip when they remix someone elses track.. :\ |

Re: VIP remixes
I was looking at Adam F's Drum and Bass Warfare CD, and I noticed there are some VIP remixes, but by artists I'm pretty sure didn't originally create the track.
The example I'm looking at is Stand Clear feat. MOP. According to the website (adamf.com), the track was composed by Adam F, Jamal Grinnage, Eric Murray, and Pete Smith. Yet, Matrix and Fierce have a remix that's labeled VIP. (Matrix = J.Quinn and Fierce = D. Stein .. sorry dunno their first names) Why is their version VIP and Origin Unknown's isn't? |

Re: VIP remixes
There's a VIP remix on the CD I bought. I was referencing adamf.com to see if Matrix or Fierce had a hand originally in producing the track (which I didn't see offhand). |

Re: VIP remixes
I bought Adam F's Drum and Bass Warfare CD. It had 2 cds.. the first cd containing remixes of the original tracks, the second a mix done by DJ Craze. On the first CD, there are two remixes of the track, Stand Clear. One remix is by Origin Unknown, the other is by Matrix and Fierce. I just wanted to know why the second remix is labeled VIP. |

Re: VIP remixes
well...to explain:
i.e. stand clear - (matrix & fierce vip mix)
what that would mean is that Matrix and Fierce did a Remix of stand clear...but they also did an exclusive Remix VIP version which ended up being released instead of the "normal" remix....make sense?
and it looks like a marketing ploy...about every other track says vip on that warefare cd

Re: VIP remixes
hahah VIP doesn't have to be done by the original artist... it CAN be a remix of someone elses toon. what makes it a VIP in that case is that it's usually done without permission and just made for personal use/spinning and maybe passing it on to a few close dj friends to also play out. it will never be released, it will never really be publicized... it's just done for the love of the music. sure, people can get all feisty about it and this or that, but at the end of the day... whatever, it's just about having some fun with tunes. |

Re: VIP remixes
i think he's saying that an unauthorized remix can also qualify as a "VIP" ?
i always thought that "VIP" implied "i made this track and i am now remixing it for me and if you f**kers are lucky i'll put it out after making you cry for it for ages" ... beats the s**t out of me. |

Re: VIP remixes
i'm sorry but that isnt correct, senks is on the right track though
people putting "vip" should mean the remix by that artist that made the tune.(matrix prolly remixed his own remix to put as a bonus tune on there), sometimes they'll use it in a "very important peep" context, meaning its an exclusive remix by an exclusive producer for certain dj's (like sardines) |

Re: VIP remixes
i definatly agree with the serum's "very important peep" statement prime example trace remixed the pleague just for s**ts and grins hive and keaton did not know he did it. after wards he sent them copies so now only three heads have it if thats not vip what is.
as for releasing them we all need to remember that this is still the music biz and producers and labels would be stupid to sit on massive tunes that would sell s**tloads of copies its no biggie to the big boys anyways cause by the time vips come out there all playing newer s**t . |
