Re: remixing inner city life?
It would be interesting to see how you would end up remixing it, thats for sure. One of my all time favorite jams, used the title for a drawing even. Go for it and see what happens.

Re: remixing inner city life?
I dont think I would like it retouched. But hey if a producer did, I just wouldnt want the original feel to be compromised. |

Re: remixing inner city life?
Intersting thread...
I was thinking of that very scenario the other day.
I'm completely pro. Although with a tune of such gravity, it has to be done right. I think we're all agreed in that sense.
Inner City Life was a pivotal influence for me, and I still maintain the original pressing to this day. Its of a time where the use of vocals had parallel motives to those of today. In the midst of all these cheeseball reece-ridden vocals tunes, I think a proper return to City Life could be just the ticket. No matter who takes it upon themselves to do so, I think Goldie should have some level of control over the project.
It reminds me of when Spike Lee chose to make Malcolm X... just don't f**k it up.
Beautiful song, with or without the refix. |

i saw Goldie perform it live at the Bjork show in November 1995 and I got a Timeless shirt that I still have!!! Yeah that would be the last time Goldie would ever perform in the states! Fun times for sure! |

Re: remixing inner city life?
ooooooo I'm jealous. I was only 14 around that time...the only thing I have is a plain black and white poster advertisement of that show stashed safely away and thats it (which I probably got from the ol' Dr. Freeclouds store).
I wish I could have seen that performance, must have been quite an experience.

I have an INCredible : Sounds of Drum'n'Bass mixed by Goldie poster, a Metalheadz box set promo poster from 96, and a Talkin' Headz documentary poster... all from ye ole Ebay.
Great finds.
Looking for an original copy of Talkin' Headz, although I'm curious does PAL play on american VHS machines? |

Re: remixing inner city life?
pal does not play on ntsc players. you can either buy a vcr thats pal friendly (about a grand) or get it duped at a video duplication service. (about 10 bux) |
