Konkrete Jungle is about Peace

I would like to start off by saying hello to everyone on the board. Let us now clear the confusion. The club that we have grown to love and know called Konkrete Jungle is originally from NYC. The owner of the event is a very good friend of mine and has been for the past 10 years...and yes, his name is Mack...big up the the brother. The Tekqween is one of my employees of Sci Phi Recordings. The reason why I wanted her to post under her name is to see how the jungle scene honestly felt, I'm a bit disappointed. I HOPE THIS POST GETS READ BEFORE IT IS ERASED.

I have never been one to brag, but the truth shall set you free. And here is the truth...
Starting with this: go to giantsteps.com and look up the groove collective's first album off of Warner Bros. and Giant Steps Records. I appear on this CD on a song called the Funky Nerd. The Giant Step is also a club in NYC, this was before Konkrete Jungle. Mack worked at Giant Step. I was one of the Resident MCs for 5 years, this is where I got my start. Konkrete Jungle came out of this club. Mack decided to branch off and decided to do his own thing because there was no jungle scene at all in NYC. He did a great justice to the art form.

Now, in 1999 DJ Hive, DJ Daddy Kev, the Troublemaker, and myself created Celestial Recordings. TC Islam helped us get booked at Konkrete Jungle, NYC earlier that year. Before we left L.A. we were offered to do a night at the Spaceland, Silverlake. We didn't know what to call the night. While we were in NYC at the original KJ, I personally came up with the idea to ask Mack, "Can we do Konkrete Jungle, Los Angeles?", the guys agreed. I remember him nodding his head saying yes immediately with no strings attached.

No disrespect to whoever this guy JO-S is, but I never met you, I never seen you, and I never recall you playing in KJ, NYC or LA. As a matter of fact, Daddy Kev called me and asked me who you were. He also told me that Hive really wasn't feelin' you like that because you tried to restart KJ and he disagreed and you got mad.

The Konkrete Jungle, LA will be returning on 04.02.03 at the Catch One Nightclub 4067 W. Pico. I hope this clears up the misconfusion...April Fools Comes Early.

s'funny. first time i saw jo-s spin was at konkrete jungle la. that's when i found out he was from new york. i coulda sworn i saw him talking to hive and kev also. maybe i was mistaken.

I love this...good luck. Have a great time. More power to ya. You're a liar. Mack has no idea that you're doing this, he's very mad and you're gunna get sued. Hive and Kev don't hate me and I respect them. Mack gave me the rights to use the name...he even gave me a venue. I chose not to do the night after speaking w/ Hive for 2 reasons: He didn't want to have his name wrapped up in the KJ business anymore b/c if it flopped the 2nd time around he didn't want people to think he had something to do w/ it. And second, I chose to not ride off the success that my forefathers in the scene have built (regardless of the fact that even though Mack, TC and he rest of the hip-step family were the ones responsible for jump starting my career). You also say Konkrete is about peace but you say that Hive and Kev are mad @ me just to stir up the s**t? What a f**kin lie!!! You disrespect me on this board and you disrespect the KJ family you fool. Noone ever has areason to start s**t w/ me b/c i don't give them a reason. But if you wanna come w/ the disrespect towards my family, I'm gunna tell all that you're full of it.

I respect the fact that people have my back but I'm not looking for props. It is just a shame that if Phoenixorion is really who he says he is, he should have known how to handle this situation appropriatly. He should have called Mack and asked permission b4 advertising the party on this board. He may even very well be calling Mack right now but do to the way he handled business up to this point, he could have scarred his chances of having a successfull night. If he does end up getting permission, more power to him. I'm just a representative / KJ DJ. I hold KJ in the highest regard. I have known the people involved w/ KJ for many years and it makes me sad to think that Phoenixorion wants me to think otherwise. It is also a shame that if this party does take off LEGALLY that i won't be involved b/c obviously Phoenixorion has a problem w/ me.

I've been living here going on 8 years, I paid madd dues in NYC, I'm part of Zulu Nation, Alien Nation, the Black Watch Movement, and the Hip Step Family. If what I'm sayin' is a lie, could somebody please prove me wrong.

Obviously, Mr. S, you are pissed off at the fact you couldn't make KJ happen. I don't have any problems with you....I don't even know you. And if you are a part of the scene like you claim you are, you should know me and support my efforts.

I was offered to do the night at the Catch One after spinning at their New Year's Party when Brother J and Medusa performed. I could have easily called the night something else and did my own thing. I called up Daddy Kev, ran the idea acrossed him and said, "what do you think? I got a spot let's do it again." And now here we go 5 years later, once again tryin' to spread love, then here comes a hater. That's why Hive doesn't want to be involved anymore. Because of all the BS. It takes a hella lot of effort to make these events happen. Once again that's why I posted on this board to ask the people what they want.

It's been all positive up until the point you posted JO-S. Instead of tryin' to get in contact with me or do some research you started the CONFUSION....talking about people getting SUED, and you called me a LIAR those are very serious words. Since I still don't know you, I'm gonna let all of that go.

No. Phoenix, this is not about peace. This is about what is legal and moral and what is an abuse of our friendship. The original KJLA was never a "no strings attached" agreement as Kev and Hive would tell you if you bother to ask. Better yet you should have asked me. Any use of the name or images of Konkrete Jungle without permission is a copywrite infringement
and all parties involved, including Catch One, WILL BE SUED, if this event takes place.
I have spoken to some of the companies
"sponsoring" this fraudulent
event and they had no knowledge of it
and are prepared to sue as well.
Finally, I am hurt that someone I do
consider a friend would have so little
regard for that friendship that they
would STEAL a friend's work.
I would have preferred to discuss this in
private but you left me no choice.

Thank you JO-S I've been tryin' to get in contact with my old friend. I just spoke to Mack on the phone, straighten things out, and it's all good. The event will be called, Scifidelity powered by the Konkrete Jungle LA. So, the party is still going on. This was an open discussion on this board for everybody to witness the struggle, the hard work, and the drama we all have to go through to get this music to you.
