What would LA be like with out JS?

Would everyone still car pool to parties? Would everyone still be picking up flyers so they can be reminded of when is the next party? Would everyone be able to get close to promoters and djs? Would everyone still be using the news paper to look for work? Would everyone still only get the opinion from people they know. Would everyone still be standing alone in the club because they dont have the ability to make new friends? Would everyone have to develop their own film from parties or download their own pictures from their digital cameras?

Or would it all be the same?

Actually, I don't think it would be the same cuz LA is such a huge place that I never see my friends anyways, and here I can always find people I wanna contact.

that's probably true heather. i would have never met stevo (i met weston on DOA) but JS hasn't put in 5 hours a day in the studio for the last 6 months for us. we wouldnt be known locally either, but that's not a major deal. probably have more friends that way.

things were great before js in LA, not saying there still not great.

I think js has done alot of really good things for LA, but there is always some bad with the good.

great question. and f**king anywhere in the world is f**king in a pool of vd.

with out js i would still be alone only knowing 1 other person(who i met by chance) thats likes dnb. i would feel super f**king alienated going out to clubs. i would hate going out because i didnt know anyone(yes it was like that for me). i wouldnt have gotted better at producing. i wouldnt have met some really cool people.(alan, carol, chris, etc)



then again i wouldnt be such and internet whore if jay ess never existed.

reason #1 why no one goes out to jungle parties:

its easier to berate people on jsm than to go to a club and do it. f**k it, we know you're already drunk and stoned (what's new) and we know you're listening to jungle music, so why bother going out?

well, I love JS because I only had one friend prior to getting on JS that liked dnb and she NEVER goes out. I've made tons of friends, and I never knew where to go to hear the tunes before. It's connected me to tons of cool people. And yeah, there is bulls**t, but I tend to ignore it (you guys should try that too, teehee).

So essentially, what I'm saying is, there would be NO missanita in the scene had I not stumbed onto this site. And they all lived happily ever after. The End.

This is EXACTLY the same thing with me

i have met so many people through here its amazing... and i am really happy for that because everyone so far has been totally cool.. and i dont think i would attended dnb parties especially because i didnt know anyone who liked it, or someone who would go to parties that are all dnb... i am glad i have met such dope friends and that i am more involved in the scene now. I dont think it would have been this way for me if it wasnt for JS - maybe it would have... but not this quick.

i'd have to agree with anita. i wouldn't have gotten into the scene either. the only people i knew before js was amanda (from hob and hush hush), mok and rusta. i've made A TON of friends from here. hooked up a few times. made A LOT of business contacts and clients. showcase my work on here. some days i get really sick of js tho and wanna interact with more mature and professional people in the biz instead with a bunch of kids.

js has been very positive for me and dnb in la.

if JS wasn't here some other website would have filled the gap. Just like if we hadn't invented the first nuke the Germans would have.

but back in the day the real scene was great. i really miss it. some things have changed and some remain the same. i think a major reason why the whole rave scene suffered was because of the US regime change and Ashcroft.

...........LA would be very much the same, The D&B scene in LA would be a tad different, I suppose. I really like the jsm bizzness, it keeps my phone bill down. I can't say that I've met very many people on here, a few heads though. I totally like to meet people the old fashioned way, but seeing as I hardly evah go out anymo',...... well,..........it does me just fine.

I got to agree with Dave for sure some other site site would have been here..... Alot of peeps before JS were on different e-mail groups and other stuff.... and peeps still are...... there is alot of other sites in LA that are DnB related..... also yeah old school days before lots of different internet stuff the scene was pretty much the same...... maybe things would have been different for a few peeps with no JS. but for the most part peeps would have just gone about things different..... there is alot of peeps who go out right now that don't go on JS... they don't seem to have any problems meeting peeps.. but yeah it's alot easier to say what ever to whom ever when you are not even in the same room...... Mad props to Dave for having this site to bring some unity....... great Ideal...... all ideal are pure it's us people that corupt them........ f**k all the bull s**t...... but hey we are all trying.. well some of us......

the funniest thing i have observed about js.com is how kids tend to think that the whole "la jungle scene" comes and posts here...
next to that is how many people come here and get "famous"

I think there would be way more. right now there being the JS clique at all the parties or atlest bringing all the different cliques together, well with out that unity it would make alot more small grups of peeps hanging out not talking to each other..... but yeah LA has always been lots of different groups of friends hanging out at the parties..... JS is just like networking and stuff..... I don't think there would be more dancing it would be about the same........ the amount of peeps that dance wouldn't change....... all the peeps that dance now would probley still dance and every one who doesn't wouldn't. Why would they start? they would probley just not go out.......
