im going to hell for this..

but i just saw the new justin timberlake video and song..........................im not gonna front it was sorta hot. but thats only cuz the neptunes fronted the prodction....but still......it feels so wrong to even remotely like it.....grrrr. am i going to burn in hell for this one?

Fuck no, dude, I've been hearing for months now that his whole new album is going to be like 2-step kinda s**t. I think it sucks that it's him too, but think about how much mainstream exposure can come from this.
If the music is good, it's good and it matters a little bit less who's head it came from.

If you thinks its good then that what matters. You can't judge an artist on the past even if it was hugely sucessful. Except MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice....they will always suck.

I think alot of the production that goes into todays Pop/RnB/Rap tracks is cool. i guess when you get a dump truck full of money, you dont care who you sell a beat to. thats how it seems.

I did see that 7-11 sponsored looking video by that Nsync kid. did anyone catch the TKO peice in the back? Toomr is fresssh. i think VOX was up in there too. anyone know where that was filmed at?

alright....some of you have missed the point of this disscussion.....before hearing the song you make a diss on his image....its a given that he's a fruity, or that hes a "sellout" all those negative things are a given. im just sayin that with all that in mind...i sorta dug what he did.
im not going to buy the single and im prolly gonna change the station when it comes on my radio but i can appreciate an honest effort.




and about the neptunes.......they are the top producers in hip hop period. no other act/production house can flex every style of music with grace. the neptunes have done a lot more things than you realize. and so what if they are making money what do you think the music industry is? peanuts and cake? its all about money. even the one little scene we all care about is part of the music INDUSTRY.....its just how you swallow your candy thats important

toomer's f**kin sick. neptunes are changin the face of hip hop/rnb forever (whether good or bad).
im not a justin timberlake fan at all but he's really got his s**t together. but i swear, if they try'n rape the 2step sound (don't really care for that either) i will lose what lil respect i have for him. backstreet boyz already tried to molest the sound like that. if he does...i will disown 2step as part of the dnb family.

geez.....im not a fan of timberfake either....but i still think its a good direction. an believe it or not.....we arent the only ones that like two step. my main thing with the whole nsync/backstreet boys thing is the fact that they have used dance moves and vocal styling associated with black artist and have taken in it to the bank dancing.

i've said it b4 on this board, and i'll say it again. as far as producers... the neptunes can't be touched... and that goes for any style. they've definately stolen the crown from timbaland (although tim is still unleashing sick beats, that shade sheist track is insane). underground heads gettin all WHINEY about anything commercial is so so tired. both the nep's and tim have been making mad $ off of making the sickest and most creative beats around. sorry, but you just can't front on that. i have much respect for them both for turning "commercial music" into good music. i guess i'll be going to hell as well.

There are a lot of people out there who are with you and just too pussy to admit it, raun. If people can't recognize high-quality musicianship, regardless of where it comes from or what image it's representing, that's their downfall, not ours. I don't have to say that I like music just because it's good, but I can acknowledge the aesthetic possibilities of a song for any one genre and it's growth. That applies even to country and classical music peronally, but like I said, I don't have to like it to appreciate it. I guess most people are just tone-deaf, or musically dead to the world.
