I've never understood the correlation between knowing your "roots" and liking something of the present day. you can know the history of d&b and see that it does stem from roots, rock & reggae, but why does that mean you have to like it now?
are we not progressive creatures? did d&b not morph into other molds and take on other faces?
different styles for different audiophiles - that's what d&b is. it is not holding onto your "roots" for the sake of fearing history. |
