doesn't have to be like super sharp shooter. the distorted analoge b-lines were used a lot in jump up and if we remember dillinja's "three drops" under the capone name, that was jump up for sure.

anyways, i hear total science has some jump-up influence lately, hammerhead being an example.

Dude I miss speed garage so much .. I used to go out to all speed garage partys (circa '96 or so) and ROCK the f**k OUT. Anyone ever hear the Basslines CD? Totally anthemy but brings back some good memories

jump up is alive and kicking. theres just a lot of ppl who are stuck in 1997 and still think everything needs to be dark and hard but i garuntee if you play some bouncy bass, the party will be groovin.

ill say the afro funk, pimp step stuff id super dead last think i have of that is a bassface sacha joint. but i think those styles just evolved into the disco thing.


what about abstract:? is that stuff still around....i mean super f**ked up wierd beats that are still danceable. some of polar's stuff is on about that.

I dont think any genre has died really.Its just more generalized.I really dont see or hear techstep or darkstep used to often to define but producers are still producing it.

Nice....of you to point that out Wizard.......I took a big risk making that CD......many people who are accustom to my Hardsteppa sound and usual rides through the darkside were very suprised w/that CD.......

All the genres are constantly being re-worked. I've been saying for awhile now that jump up is the new jump up. Hardstep is alive and well in SD I know that. None of its dead, but some of it might be resting, waiting for a group of producers to revisit it and bring a new slant to it.

Props to SD to holding down that hardstep. The east hasn't heard sh*t bout it since the Philadelphia Hardsteppers (circa 97).

It's good to see that a lot of styles are being re-worked.
