Lemon D and Dillinja's New LP "Big Bad Bass"?
Hello All,
What are your thoughts on this album. I listened to this and thought it all kinda sounded the same. I wanted to tracks from it but couldn't justify $37.99. Let me hear what you have to say.

well the problem is that it isn't that new anymore, and been played to all hell, but a must have for sure. i don't pick up all of Dillinja's tunes, and hardly any from Lemon D, but the LP is the s**t. |

Yeah it's hecka diverse... I wasn't too happy with it at first but it's grown on me a lot. Grab it from an online UK shop and pay a lot less. |

Are there any tracks that didn't get played out and are still gems? It seemed like every bassline was the same just filtered different.

I managed to get my own copy of this album. To me, there are more okay than good songs. But, since Raun still has my copy, I can't listen to it more to like it. lol |

The only Dilly thing I own is the cybotron album... and I rocked that proper... but that was all I ever needed from him honestly... the only other Dillinja tunes I'd want to own are "Mechanical Baby" and 12" flares... maybe a couple things he has on dub... but by the time they get released they'll be so old...
Respect to Dillinja and all that cause the man has mad production skill... but f**k the ridiculously-drawn-out exclusive dubplate game... and I'm sorry but the guy's hardly changed his style in years... if it all sounds the same, why buy it at all? |

well, he is my favorite producer so this probably seems bias, but oh well. I probably enjoy his remixes the most(ultrasonic sound, babylon, bambaata etc.). In general though, his tracks are simple, but that is what I dig about them. Weapon of choice and thugz are two records of his that I rarely hear these days but are awesome.
As far as BBB...I like it, but I can see a little room for criticism. Still got it though, and rock it back here in colorado, where most of the kids dont know much about DnB. |

37.99 is decent, thats normal
s**t full cycle goes for 12.99 that i find weird but i got it anyway.

yah... all their stuff sounds the same. i still like it, tho. big bad bass wasn't really worth the money in my opinion. except for thugged out bitch and it ain't too loud, i don't really touch the other tracks. |

I haven't heard the much of this. Just Thugged Out Bitch and Grimey. I like Thugged Out Bitch the most out of the two. The vocal work reminds me of a hardcore track. Grimey I can't stand. c c c c c c c pitch bend up 1 octave does not constitute a bassline. I've been guilty of that as well but hey I've only been making tracks for 2 years compared to Dillinja's 8 or 9 or whatever. |
