message to ALL PROMOTERS



DISCLAIMER : KEITH bka APPLEJACKSOFF/BLACI2002 had asked me to post this. So none of what is going to be posted below has anything to do with my own opinions whether I agree or not. So if someone decides to try to get me banned than you are just TOUCHY as f**k. Thank you.

Im not sure where to began with this but im just gunna start somewhere... How many of you promote? Or, where is the money for promoting rather than spending it on an outta town headliner? All I got to say is the line ups arent getting any better and the population of the scene isnt growing... Why not big up for your local producers/djs like for instence phrantek, defiant, phear, magnafide, hazen, alder, machete... I mean this scene can pull alot of diverse people if you promote out to places where there isnt a dnb flyer... yea some of them have been around for awhile so why not try to pull a bigger crowd, Im sure you can fool (its a bad term i know) to make people who are soo elite into thinking that people like phrantek & defiant are bigger than what they seem... Stop wasting your time, money, flight plans, & hotel costs on overseas / outta state producers/ djs and really big up our local artists and really promote out, i mean f**k black and white flyers will do the trick. Im just sick of everyone our artists being treated underrately (nice werd aye?) compared to overseas artists when we can have fun without em?

I sorta disagree somewhat with the post though.

Wasn't CITY of ANGELS, a celebration devoted to the best of L.A. DnB?

and, I think there like a few other parties like that before in the past.

And, there was EVOLVE who mostly had local talent as well.

I don't even know if I am making sense.

and, I am not even quite sure if Keith made sense either. It started on one aspect and than it jumped to a sorta different aspect. It is kinda hard to understand on my side. Maybe, I am going dumb and dumber er something.

f**k yea C of A was solely local names.....and that party laid it tha f**k down!! str8 up...gave me faith that there are still good ppl out there and still tite spots to throw the s**t at....and basically, assaultdnb powered that spirit that i think a lot of us tend to forget when we are scanning flyers or threads for the BIG NAMES. now don't get me wrong, i love em too jaydizzle but i also believe that there is plenty to play out right here in this very beautiful country of the usa. but i love the worldwide talent period and don't consider there any legitimate reason to ever separate them in terms of listening enjoyment....look to em all like good fkn talent PERIOD....PUNTO.pC

But, anyways, I think it would be great to have bigger parties with more if not just locals, but the big problem is that, not enough show up.

I do agree completely on promoting our Stateside Djs more then the oversees ones! We have a lot of great talent that isnt heard because they arent out of state/country. Our production is getting better and better. Some my favorite dubs are from Benjie, Infiltrata, Hazen&XXXL, and thats just the LA heads alone.

But the problem does come from us LA heads being spoiled we always get great talent but no one wants to support because they all expect a Import (out of country) DJ!

Like when it was Junglist Platoon night at Respect I expected a lot of people to go out and Represent and not to many people went out. That alone is just an exampla how there is no love for our locals, and I mean Respect holds it down, yet where was everyone to show them love? They should of had a show up like anyother UK headliner in my opinion it is owed to them!

It was one of the best nights at Respect the best vibe and the residents put it down proper! There should of been more people showing love especially because they've put so much into making it happen!

Other parties do go off, but its every now and then. We should be backing our locals more then the others for sure!

Big ups to all people that book talent and promote, because they are trying to put it down. More people just need to go out and support to many people jaded. Try and be positive and give a party a chance and maybe the party wont seem so whack! To much negativity, competion, etc. We should be backin up one another not acting too good.

And, maybe, I am thinking it's unfair that he got banned for his total negative views because ,I, myself have been banned like buncha of times on here before and a few of the times were uncalled for.

Yes, negative views are bad, but I think this forum would be boring if all we saw were positive posts.

And, besides in a way, it's good to hear the negative views, I would think it would motivate people to do s**t even better or more harder.

Some people could be entertained by it.

And, one of the posts just reminded me of E-SASSIN. Whats up with him these days? Is he still producing?

But, yeah, I totally remembered going to some party. I think it was MAINFRAME I or II? Don't remember. But, I came just in time so I wouldn't miss ESASSIN's set and f**king hardly anyone was there! That s**t almost broke my heart.

huh??? Machete, Hazen, Alder and the like not getting booked or props???? C'mon!!! They are EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME, FOR YEARS NOW!!! What are we talikng about here? I don't see Respect having much of a problem pulling a crowd for Stateside DJ's they've been a great success for years now!

i think it would be a good thing for the scene to grow bigger. who wouldnt.. but how do we know that the promoters are'nt promoting to the areas where dnb isnt big. mabey the people they give the flyers to just dont have enough courage to come to the scene. now is just not the time. people come and go. as the scene does.

respekt to all and I'm very sorry if i offend anybody BUT Damn some of you should stop being such little pissant elitist f**kin bastards maybe keith or applejackoff whatever pissed some of you off BUT some of what was said strikes me as true.
I'm not tellin people how to run their shows but i know more than half of socal alone is completely oblivious of all the things pertaining to drum n bass around them. They don't know about the blood and sweat so many of US put into this thing we love.

They don't know about the countless stressful hours some of these promoters put into organizing a party so that some damn elitist can come along and s**t all over it.

They don't know about the countless other things that countless other people have contributed for nothing in return.

they don't know about the soldiers promotin n reppin their different crews and parties (or the ninjas poster-bombing outside of smokeout and getting chased by the cops)

THEY JUST DON'T KNOW.

Knowing that fact alone makes me want to rep the things i rep 50 million times harder

How can someone say the scene is not as strong as it once was when really I think there's no way that it has gone anywhere near It's fullest potential

I don't think we're trying hard enough....
but that's just my opinion.
