would u rathher hear a live mix
with or without the crowd noise(s)? If all being equal the sound coming from the DJ and MC are the same levels on each? |

Re: would u rathher hear a live mix
they're two totally different effects...
i personally dig the sound quality of a studio mix moreso than a live mix with a bunch of whistles tooting in the back ground.
but sometimes, a live mix can successfully capture the spirit of the show and incite that same energy in the listener
but not always... lol.

Re: would u rathher hear a live mix
with crowd noise is always good. one gets the feel of the energy in the crowd. but... NOT at the same levels as the mc and dj. that'd be way too much. keep it really low.
for reference, check out the databass archives (sublife.com), alder and karl cutta's live at konkrete nyc mix and full cycle live.

Re: would u rathher hear a live mix
i meant to say that the DJ and MC levels are not diminished by the crowd noises thus making the point you ^^^ made. |

Re: would u rathher hear a live mix
It's all about the live sets. I don't appreciate studio recorded sets at all compared to the live sets. The live set really lets you hear the DJ as a musician and not just as "wax on turntables". |
