“Freedom Is Not Free” propaganda
It is absolute bulls**t for the Government, Military, puppet press, or some gung-oh ‘jarhead’ to claim that THIS WAR or any other WAR is the reason why we have
“Freedom”….
This is utterly shameful - propaganda.
Not to mention UNTRUE
It is meant to put those of us who are in any way critical of this war on the defensive. We are told, over and over again, that if it wasn’t for the men/women of our military services, we wouldn’t have these rights that we take for ‘granted’…..!
What ‘freedoms’ are we talking about?
Did Black people have to kill Vietnamese people to win their Civil Rights?
(“No Viet-cong ever called me a n-----.! – Ali)
Exactly which “evil –doer” did we have to fight so that Black people could Vote ?
Did women have to kill Koreans to win their Equality?
Exactly who did we have to invade, to insure a Women’s Right To Choose ?
Who did the working-class have to fight for an 8 hour day ?
What about the ‘child labor laws’ ?
Which despot, tin-horn dictator did we have to install against the will of that countries people, to ensure your right to talk s**t about everyone and everything on this board?
Do you feel me on this?
EVERY SINGLE “RIGHT’ that we “enjoy” living in the USA was in fact a "consession" that the people had wrestle from this system!
WE the PEOPLE had to FIGHT OUR OWN GOVERNMENT to win these simple rights. (and continue to struggle to maintain them).
Whose blood had to spill for these rights?
Our own – the peoples own blood. American troops were even used on it’s own citizens!
Police, Dogs! Fire hoses, and Assignations of political leaders.
Meger Edgers blood
Macolm X’s blood
MLK’s blood
4 little girls in Mississippi – God damn!!
Fred Hampton (murdered in his sleep- after being drugged – by the FBI)
“four dead in Ohio” (4 students shot down by national guard troops during a protest )
And countless others, who sacrificed years of their lives, many losing it, struggling for
the basic rights that are supposedly “enshrined” in this countries Constitution…
These rights which we are told, is the reason why the Islamic Fundametalist hate us - all our 'freedom"...
Problem is, our very own Christian Fundamentalist are working over time to steal and destroy all these rights that they (and the grunt on the ground) say they are trying to protect...
trip on that friends, See, you can take on thier lies and distortions...
Just got look a little bit deeper and you realize how so very Thin and Shallow all thier grandose justifications are...
just something to think about...

Re: “Freedom Is Not Free” propaganda
Yo Joey
what you speak is the truth, too bad the simpletons dont have to capacity to think on this level.
Give them Xbox and Walmart and they are happy.
To the idiot and all other idiots who have said "Hate the US then Leave"
You think you are more patrotic cause you choose to do nothing about what's wrong with this country? Do you acknowledge anything is wrong, or do you just wait to hear how to think?
Who do you think benefits when the general public is ignorant and fat?
I will give you a clue, they are smarter than you and know a lot more than you, and will exploit whatever they can to maintain their status.
Knowledge is power.
Big Up Joey for attempting to raise awareness within the numb masses. |

Re: “Freedom Is Not Free” propaganda
sorry, I know insulting people is not the way, but I get tired of people who think its cool to not know s**t.
and I definately have a problem with all of the John Wayne's out there who just talk out of their ass and have no logic to back it up.
If any of you want to prove Joey's claims wrong, go and do some research and let us all know.
till then dont wet your panties talking about conspiracy theories or worse calling someone an ANTI-American because they care.
Yes, it is all of us who protest and have the courage to stand up to the system who are patriots, because deep down we want to fix things, or atleast try. If you do some homework you will find some things about this country and who is running it that might make you a lil sick. People like myself and Joey need to inform and educate people so that we can continue to live with ourselves and not feel enslaved by this filthy system that from the outside looking in, is a cancer plaguing the Earth. |

Re: “Freedom Is Not Free” propaganda
most people are not generally interested in the literal interpretation of what the consitution grants us...it's more useful to twist and manipulate for the advocacy of one's own beliefs and the disenfranchisement of all the others.
Fortunately or unfortunately, this is a drum and bass forum solely for that purpose. I think perhaps these thoughts are best spent elsewhere.
What do you do about your convictions besides rant on an unrelated website? |

Re: “Freedom Is Not Free” propaganda
The Revolutionary War freed the U.S. of control by Britiain right? And in 1791 passed the Bill of Rights... Then the Civil War paved the way for the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 which helped in ending the Civil War. Of course that proclamation wasn't about to change everybody's minds regarding racism, that's taken revolutionaries along the way as well. Many non-government/military people have helped transform this country but you can't discredit them either! Many factors have been contributed and many people for and against the goverment have helped shape this country in a positive direction. This country has come a long long way since declaring independence in 1776. So try and look at the positive. Because there's no way in hell freedom can be handed to anybody in what Darwin called a "survival of the fittest society". |

Re: “Freedom Is Not Free” propaganda
Survival of the fittest is a concept used to hide behind racism and bigotry.
puhlease. no one ever made progress by focusing on the good s**t.
you tell that to the next sobbing mother that has to RE-deploy her only son to Iraq. "sorry ma'am...try focusing on the positive. don't be so negative." |
