why not try encouraging some good writing? maybe entice them by having some sort of contest, like the best piece gets cut out, cheaply framed, and brought out on those certain nights to grace the bathroom walls? haha..yea..in a perfect world. but notice there actually IS no other writing in that bathroom? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

there certainly is.

portland has no problem forking over the $3 a night (paper cost) to keep things kosher with the venue.

even if it only helps a little.

btw, my reason for actually taking the picture and posting it here stemmed from metric's unfortunate episodes of bathroom vandalism. it's too nice of a venue to let that s**t keep happening.

people have been writing in bathrooms for decades hell maybe even centurys from "Bob was here", to "for a good time call mary" . as long as we live there will be water closet wordsmiths. and god bless them cause as everyone knows public restrooms always lack readin materials.

I remember at one of The DrumnBasics parties a while back they put paper up on all the walls so peeps would tag on that and there was some areas that the paper was ripped off and the tagging was on the wall...

this relates cause it's about bathrooms === it occured to me the other day that one could probably guage how civilized a society really is based on the cleanliness of public restrooms and i dont mean in terms of tagging i mean in terms of the homeless guy throwing s**t all over the wall or the dude who jus gets mad and decides to unroll all the toilet paper into a big pile on the floor and the dudes that cat aim for s**t drunk or sober and pisss all over the f**kin toilet . well if what i postulate is correct then we live in a very uncivilized society there's news for ya ! haha !

i dont know where u people come from talkin so much s**t on taggers.... get a life.... taggers been in this scene from the beggining...remember art vs jungle....how bout all the flyers with graffiti on em?....dont think tagging and graffiti are part of the scene?....don't use it to promote the scene if u dont want it there....i havent done any tagging in 5 or 6years but I used to tag and i still respect the graffiti artist....notice they dont tag your car....or house ....or church....or personal belongings....yes even taggers have limits and i am very suprised to hear the JUNGLE scene turning its back on one of the founding fundamentals of the underground scene......you dont have to like my opinion or agree with my statements but i am gonna express myself anyway.....

eecue beatings are more effective?....so u think that the solution is violence? where am i? you beat a person for causeing you the trouble of grabing a rag with paint thinner on it and wiping the marker off the stall door....we arnt even talking paint but marker?....most people who tag are young and you say beat these kids for writing on the bathroom wall?....i just dont get it...you are lucky that you havent caught a bigg ass gangster writing on the wall to give a beating...he and his homies might not take it so kindly the next time you threw a party...then what gunshots at the next event? thats a real good soulution huh ....beatings ...lol.... grow up

wensday....u betta watch what u say ...how ya say and who yah say it to....i am 26 and I been doin this thing since 1994....I didnt tell you to shut up so u should show me some respect and just address me....anyway this is how i see it...GRAFFITI is part of the JUNGLE scene .....always has been if you dont like it....find a new scene....mabe the house room is where u all should be, if u want upscale venues and all that stuff.....jungle is ghetto...underground.... and ruff ........i am done talkin bout it now....so have your opinions but dont ever tell me to shut up again..got it.......i dont agree with anyone who thinks taggers should get beat for tagging...but i guess i dont have to....i will respect that we dont see eye to eye....nuff said....and wenesday....u dont know me... so dont talk s**t about me....

Uh hello this is LOS ANGELES !!!!What f**king bathroom in Los Angeles does not have some form of graff on it somewhere. It's like trying to get graff out of New Yorks Bathrooms GOOD LUCK!

dude sorry, but umm, jungle isn't ghetto... stateside junglists have interpreted in a different way. some people think listening to DnB is ghetto (how, i don't f**kin know..)
a lot of hip hop heads HAVE brought various aspects of hip hop culture to DnB.

last time i checked, being into DNB doesn't make you a gangster. seriously, there is nothing ghetto about DnB and a large number of DnB producers and DJ's are just dorky white boys who like old breaks, robot sounds, cheesy porn, and sci fi... sorry but it's true. there is nothing "ghetto" about MIDI sequencing, subtractive synthesis, and frequency modulation..

anyway, i don't look at a crappy tag on a bathroom wall and go "DAMN!! Now that's FUCKIN DRUM N' BASS!!"
