Tripeye fakin' the funk

So it turns out all of Tripeye's "flyest" badgirls in his "crew" are illegitimate.

He takes girls' pictures off the net and gives them names and claims they are in his "crew".

I wouldn't have really cared so much if he hadn't had to take the one I use on myspace to promote junglescene with.

Tripeye, do you have anything to say for yourself? Man I tried to keep an open mind and not think down on you but its gotten nearly impossible now.

There are 4 or 5 JS members pics on his yahoo groups page under the members section, I just IMed one of them right now and they had no clue and confirmed that not only are they not a member of the group but theyve never even heard of the guy.

Where are the pictures in the post other than just posting links to threads with them in it?

Oh yeah, nothing wrong with what Mr. UNIFIRE + BASSBINBOY are doing. They discovered something that they felt that people should be aware of and weren't afraid to tell it. Just like you can do the same - whether it's all true or not.

i signed up for your group to try and figure out the point behind it and when i realized there was none and its all probly just some kind of scam, i unjoined. stop fronting and be yourself. you should just give up on this whole imaginary crew concept

Everyone should care Mel... If this is tripeyes group, he could be in violation of U.S. Copyright laws several times over. The more important factor here is the group owner is using peoples images, not just the photos but the peoples identities for his own gain and possibly hurting your reputation at the same time.

For example and this is totally hypothetical, completely fiction... Lets say A Promoter is interested in booking you for a party to spin, then one random day comes across your photo in the photos section of a group run by someone he/she has beef with becuz they stole $5000 from said promoter. If he believes you support this person he has the right to not book you for that party or any future parties. Now youre thinking well its just one promoter, but what if the group owner did this to other promoters and those promoters also have beef with him?

Another example... Youre leaving a club one night and youre handed a flyer and find your face on the flyer but you think to yourself "i dont remember giving consent and I certainly wasnt compensated for it" or imagine youre given a flyer and find your image being used by another DJ. This actually happened to a friend of mine well known here in the states, more notably Los Angeles. A DJ from Canada was using my friends photos to gain exposure in Canada.

The questions we should be asking now are...
Were any of those pics taken by the group owner?

Have the photos been used elsewhere? if so for what?

What other plans does the group owner have for the photos?

not to be a bitch, but yo A.D.- didn't you say that you got that photo off of google to promote junglescene on myspace??? it's kinda the same concept... i can see how you'd be upset a bit, but these threads are kinda unnecessary in my opinion... did you ask him to remove the pics before posting this? and no i'm not taking his side, i think that it was stupid to post them- and i'm not saying what A.D. did was stupid BECAUSE he didn't claim that the girl was his homie, or from SD at all for that matter... i just think the thread is a bit abrasive... nevermind i'm not one to talk, i've been known to take threads over the top...disregard plz

i don't have a problem with him posting the picture. my problem is him putting down bulls**t captions. claiming total strangers are in his "crew" is wack!!! my concept of crew is sacred. and my concept of his crew is forever tarnished. there's no shortcuts to the top, trying to work the system with lies and deceit will only bring you down.

My beef is that he is stealing other peoples photos rather than goin out and taking his own. Would a musician stay quiet if one of their tunes was ripped off? NO! Would a MC stay quiet if someone was biting their rhymes? NO! Would a graff artist stay quiet if some toy claimed one of their pieces? NO! Photographers are no different, whether professional or amateur, we deserve the same respect and are protected by the same copyright laws. It is all art, respect it and protect it.

i guess you only quoted that part and didn't read the rest? i have no time to discuss crew concepts, but like i said, A.D. did not do anything wrong, i just thought that posting it all over some forums was a bit over the top. thanks!

i'm not coming to anyone's rescue, i just know that this started on MY SITE and i'd hate to be a negative part of it. like i said, i think what he did was wack, and i don't think you have so much room to talk dude, because you posted the same pic for basically the same reason- just without the text under it.

I caught him using one of my pics on the front page of his yahoo group. I asked him to please remove the pic because he was using it without my persmission. He writes back saying he doesnt see how i can ask him to remove a pic of him from his website. So I told him unless youve changed the pic since I last messaged you, I took that pic of Adam F at The Rapture in San Diego last year. 25 minutes later he changes the pic and writes back telling me to go away, I stink. He also banned me from his group and warned me to leave them alone. Such a sad little man.
