new functional designs.
I bought hot pockets the other day for the first time in years. Nothing personal, its just been a while. Point is, when i opened the classic plastic pouch, i was suprised to find a new sleeve design for the microwave. Instead of the classic microwave sleeve, there is a new cooking cover that folds up and doubles as a hot pocket travel holder. Now thats worthless injinuity!...
from wiki: "The sleeves, now branded Qwik Crisp, are intended to be kept on, by folding in two flaps of one end, and there are perforations that allow the user to rip off one third of it and continue eating."
essentially the hot pocket people spent millions to brand and create something that is basicly hot pocket gloves.
Are there any designs youve seen recently that you thought were counter intuitive or just plain retarded?... post em. |

Re: new functional designs.
to each their own, i was thinking about it more on the level that someone was in charge of an entire department whose sole purpose was to make a pocket for a self contained food.
The japanese have it down with their edible wrappers, now if we can just find some rice paper that is microwave safe. |

there's an old saying that goes something like: packaging engineers are engineers who flunked out of engineering school |
