I have talked to Betty and asked her to post the full details of what has happened and when we can go to the hearing and show our support for Robert and his family.
Basically they caught the guy on some other charges and he's hopefully going to be in jail for a long time.

I was there that night with my eventual husband....Danny and I were having a deep conversation about God, who I had not found yet. Danny and I parted and I got the sudden urge to go home.
We left right before the shooting took place. I honestly feel that the conversation I had with Danny opened my heart to hear God and that 'urge' was God telling me to get out of there.
I've been open to His Word ever since that night.
In death, another one of God's children was saved.

I havent really told anyone this.
Roberts death changed my life forever.
I was standing outside promoting Bluebeat 2 the night he was killed and this dude sounding really obnoxious said "ah f**k you let me" in or something like that.
It looked like a couple guys couldnt get in the club and the night was almost over blah blah right so I stupidly yell something obnoxious back as I had a few drinks, not sure why
but i did
so
this guy zeros in on me
come right up to me
and gets in my face
gets my attention real quick
he looks me in the eye and says "what? whatcha gonna do white boy? you dont want to f**k with a mexican in the ghetto!"
I stood there blank
in my head
it was fight or flight
I dont back down
all I heard was this...
"Danny, turn your back"
.......
it was in my head
but loud and clear
like it wasnt coming from me
LOUD AND CLEAR I kept hearing "DANNY TURN YOUR BACK"
I literally just turned my back and closed my eyes
the guy was still standing there
I prayed
I said please God make him walk away
God
and I heard..."Thats what I thought white boy"
and 3 seconds later
he ran into Robert
and then...
Someone told me right afterward that he had said something to the guy about what he was saying to me. Like he was standing up for me. I have never been able to swallow that.
I felt compelled to write this because Noel hit me up today, today has been a great day in so many ways for me.
Probably the best day in my career. I locked two deals that are going to change my life. I have been feeling out of touch with the foundation and with Noel hitting me up and telling me that that night changed her life partly because I stopped her to tell her about God and his love, that hit me hard.
It hit me so hard because I forgot about my love for God, I forgot how much I used to tell people about his grace and love.
Well I was reminded and tonight I bow my head and thank God for the soldier we knew as 3rd Eye Styles aka Robert Bautista.
You are my angel, I cant explain it, barely understand it, will never forget it.

wow man, that's really deep.
for some reason i didn't feel like going out that night... i'm not sure why. i had been to nearly every databass before that. i just ended up crashing out on my couch, and then someone called me and told me what happened. |

Ever since my first Databass I never missed another one and always stayed till the end. That night I actually left 15 minutes early cuz I felt like something bad was going to happen and lo and behold about the worst imaginable thing did happen. I lost a friend. Wow. Thank you Danny. I'm glad you took the time to write that out. Sometimes in life, there are small decisions that affect every other decision afterwards.
So, right after that happened is when Robert got shot?

I remember going to the Databass before, and being so excited that Total Science was going to be at the next one. I planned on going for sure - but ended up in Vegas instead for a friends birthday - and logging into junglescene and seeing Robert's picture on the js main page.
I was definitely glad I wasnt there that nite, I don't know how I would have handled something like that at the time, because I was still dealing with the loss of my best friend. |

The trial of Robert's killer is supposed to start August 22, 2008 in the criminal court building at 210 W. Temple St in downtown LA. People v. Juan Lopez - BA274123. People who want to honor Robert's memory are encouraged to attend! Anyone who was present the night of the murder, please contact me ASAP!!

There were a lot of people on this board that were there that nite, and many witnesses too.
That is great news that this is finally going to trial!
I remember the cops didn't even follow up with any of the witnesses or call anybody after this happened.
