Good god almighty, DIESELBOY utterly crushed TEMPLE last Thursday, taking full advantage of the brain-busting TEMPLE soundsystem to rock one of the biggest crowds we've had in a while. Of course, COMPRESSION's own, DJ's IVRY and MAL perfectly set the stage with a slamming opening set, and MC's COLONEL, MANNY VIBES, and special birthday guest ZEZO had everyone screaming like howler monkies . . . Jesus, that was awesome. Next up:
JAYVON & MC XYZ
Once upon a time these two junglists extraordinaire were known simply as LA's finest, but in the past few years they've taken it to the next level, establishing themselves as preeminent dons of the JUNGLISTIC STATES, touring all over the country and lighting up ever venue they hit. Somehow, we here in San Francisco don't get to see them very often, which is BULLSHIT. These guys f**king rule it, and are definitely cousins to the COMPRESSION family, so get READY for a raukus f**king evening, no doubt.

JAYVON seriously rocks the DnB decks like no other. Giving less than a f**k about what DnB "should" sound like, JAYVON is certain to bring the unexpected. Seriously, the man has balls. Did you hear his edition of the B2B Sessions Mix? JAYVON said "f**k it--DnB is a state of mind, a tempo" and turned in a DnB mix that didn't ostensibly have a single DnB track on it--and in the process turned out an absolutely classic mix. Contstantly on tour, JAYVON is one of the JUNGLISTIC STATES' most sought after and most dependable DJ's, HANDS DOWN. But if JAYVON wasn't pimpin enough, wait until you hear him together with his partner in crime:
MC XYZ
Life ain't easy for DnB MC's, but there's a man knows how to make it look easy, and that's XYZ. One of the JUNGLISTIC STATES' top 5 skilled MC's, and perhaps its best known, XYZ is the only resident MC to ever grace the bill at RESPECT, LA's longest running and most bangingest weekly. He tours the country with Jayvon (and others), and is on every bill each year in Miami. He's also the "haters' MC," able to win over even the crustiest MC-hater with his relaxed style and energetic flow. In case you didn't know, he's a huge moving force in American DnB, having conceived, produced, and published the B2B SESSION MIX SERIES. Featuring an amazingly diverse group of the JUNGLISTIC STATES' best up-and-coming Junglists (including Compression's own DJ's Aye~n, Mal, and the Colonel), the B2B SESSIONS help every US junglist tune into fresh new talent, blowing up the scene as a whole and bringing our wide musical landscape closer together.
