Fighting in bars...

I've never been about it. It's one reason why I've loved electronic music for ten years. I could go dance and not have to worry about drunk tools hitting on me or crazy bitchez trying to fight me. For the past few years I've been to over 20 bars to hear the music I want to hear even if I have to drive hours to hear it. Better than going to a local bar with crappy music and stupid people.

Last night I was really enjoying dancing at Timeless at the Little Rock in Tarzana. Toward the end of the night two girls, Staz and Brettely wanted to get in my face about some old s**t from the past. I told them to have a good night, smiled and walked back inside. Then after the lights came on and the music ended, Staz came up to me with the worst attitude saying I needed to go outside and around the corner because "things needed to be handled". I said I'm not going outside and I'm not fighting anyone, and she said why not, I said because I'm to old to get into childish high school crap like that, she kept arguing with me while I smiled at her stupidity. Then Brettely came in and got in my face yapping like a crazy person about all kinds of lame s**t that didn't make sense. I said I'm not going to fight you, please leave me alone and go away. Neither of them would shut up or go away. I said if you don't walk away then I will and I did. I crossed the street and as I approached my vehicle with my friend, I hear footsteps running across the street. I turn around and it's Brettely trying to rush me, my friend Mark held her off me while I got in the car and locked the door. As Mark walked around to get in she punched my car window two times yelling at me to get out and handle things. I drove off yelling "grow the f**k up"

I wasn't mad, I was humored. Stupidity in drunk people when I'm sober is extremely funny to me, how can I fight someone when I'm laughing at them? I don't see myself as a pussy, I see myself as the adult. I have a good job to go tomorrow and a daughter to pick up from school. I don't need scratches or bruises because two girls want to be stupid and childish. i hate drama

I don't know anything about your situation or who those people were, or whatever the beef was about it...

but, i can agree with you on this point...

one of the cool benefits i saw in the rave / drum & bass scene when i started partying is that you could bring large numbers of people together to enjoy the music, with relatively little amount of physical violence...

well, i actually met Brettely a year ago at a car show... never saw her at a music event until I Love LA a few months ago. I've tried to be cool with her on many occasions but she does stupid s**t when she's drunk, at parties, on her phone and on the internet that I wont get to deep into explaining.

I was dancing Saturday night and she came up to me and said "there's a part of me that wants to beat your ass and another part of me that wants to hug you, we suck" and she gave me a hug, i even slapped her ass when i hugged her back.

Then not long after that I was outside and her and Staz came out, i started to tell them something funny that had just happened outside and Staz interrupted me with a bad attitude waving her hand around in the air like a cholita trying to start s**t, she kept saying there was old s**t that needed to be worked out, i just smiled at how ugly they both looked all mad and serious. I had never been in Staz's presence or exchanged word with her ever, so it was kind of shocking that she was trying to be Brettely's spokes model not knowing that we had just hugged inside. I kept telling her that things were cool and she kept on with her bad attidtude insisting that s**t needed to be worked out, i said wtf this isnt high school?! Then Brettely came in, got in my face saying that it didn't have anything to do with the past that it's about me having attitude with her and all this nonsense that i don't remember because i was so humored by how serious and crazy they were acting. Then Brettely made a comment that we keep running into each other at shows and I said "yea all of sudden" and she got this super pissed look on her face and said "whats that supposed to mean" i smiled and said, nothing, tapped both of her shoulders and said have a good night and went back inside to dance.

When the lights came on and the music went off Brettely came up behind me on the dance floor then she went outside. I leaned up against the wall with Mark while he finished his beer. Then Staz comes up to me and says "so here's the deal, you need to go outside and around the corner to handle things with my girl" i laughed and said "what needs to be handled and why?" she had so much attitude while i was calm and smiling and she kept trying to convince me that i needed to go outside. I said you're acting stupid and I'm not going outside and I'm not fighting anyone, she said why not? I said because I'm not mad, I have no reason to fight, it's lame" then Brettely came inside and all up in my face saying she tried to be cool with me and i gave her attitude and I need my ass beat and all this blaberish nonsense. I just smiled and said i'm not going outside with you, get out of my face and go away. i sware i told her to go away like five times and she wouldnt. Then i said f**k this i'm out of here. As I left I could see Staz punch her hand and say "f**k the bitch up". I crossed the street with Mark and as we aproached the car I could hear footsteps running across the street, turn around and it's Brettely about to rush me, Mark grabbed her as I jumped in the car and locked the door. Mark came around the car to get in and Brettely came up to my window and punched the window two times call me a pussy telling me to get out, i yelled to grow the f**k up and drove out of there laughing and saying omg crazy bitches trying to attack me at a DnB show!

It was not what I went there for and never did I expect some 21 year old girl who i've never talked to in my life get up in my face with such attitude and insist on starting a fight. No way was I lowering myself in public like that. So not worth it.

I'm posting to start a discussion about people that like to start fights in bars and say that its not cool for any electronic music scene. I'm not trying to stir any pots, I doubt these two girls come on this site and if they do read this what would come of it, they try to fight me again? oh no

Funny I was in a similar situation at filth last week. Over some s**t that went down at circa about 11 years ago.

There more drama in EDM than we care to realize. Its amusing to read about the drama people have gone through in the past on here. I'd make a post about about all the amusing drama episodes we all have witnessed on this site, but I'd rather not bring it up.

The only thing I was sweating was her punching the window, I thought she was going to break it or kick a big dent on my mans new car or something. I had a pocket knife on my key chain and a clear path to run them over with the car when I was pulling out... now that would have been some 90210 s**t, lol

The SoCal scene is small enough that any repercussions can be seen pretty quickly. That's why its always good to be on your best behavior.
Who knows, one day your friend's new brother-in-law might be a fellow SoCal junglist, and you might be sitting at the same table at the wedding reception. Shit, it happened to me.

WOW! I am really sorry to hear that this happened at our event! There has never been a fight let alone any sort of problems at any Timeless since we've started and I assure you that we DO NOT want anything to ever happen or ruin the good time of anyone who walks through our doors! If anything like should ever happen again PLEASE do not hesitate on letting one of us at the door know and we will make sure that security handles the situtation propa! Thank you for coming out to Timeless and I hope this event don't hinder the possiblities of you coming to our next event!!

the end result of fighting is a continuation of the problem because somebody always will want revenge. it's actually the opposite of 'handling' the problem lol.

the last time i fought a chick i learned that it was really stupid and pointless, even though it gave me some satisfaction, it still wasn't worth it because it didn't solve anything.

brettely was kicked out of bassrush permanently last year for starting a fight and knocking over a speaker while at it. so not cool, in her mind it is though

I know a lot of you don't care to read about it, like I said, not trying to stir any pots. I'm sure some people saw it happen because there was a lot of people standing out front at the end of the night and I bet more people would care if I had really fought her that night, so not only did I do myself a favor by being cool about it, I also didn't want to disrespect the promoters and dj's of this event by fighting at their dnb event, especially on Machete's birthday.

Don't know the people, but that whole situation just sucks. Been at Timeless many times, and it's such a peaceful, drama-free spot [which is why I love it].

There was no fight. Me and my dear friend Down N Going made sure that wasn't going to happen. I don't know what part of "get out of my face, I don't want any beef" those girls didn't understand but no matter what could have or did happen i doubt it would cause anyone to not attend any Timeless events in the future. It won't prevent me from going again and if she wants to bring beef, then I will just leave again with a smile on my face.

Mandymoon's situation sounded like it had some potential. Thankfully it didn't manifest itself.
