New Glitch.FM Show! Between One and Zero w/ HipGnosis
Thanks to some massive Twitter campaigning, we were lucky to catch wind of the one and only
Eric Young a.k.a. HipGnosis!
By way of the one of the illest offline mix submissions we've received so far, we demanded he join the ranks of our station's burgeoning talent... and let us say - we are thanking our lucky stars that he's accepted the task and the challenge! We introduce you to his new show on Glitch.FM - "Between Zero and One"
Biography
"Encouraged to have a wide variety of musical taste from a young age, HipGnosis (Eric Young) began collecting influences and records from age 6 years old. Growing up in the Midwestern United States, Eric had plenty of time to focus on musical studies. Beginning trumpet at age 9, Eric continued with private lessons and participation in both school and extracurricular bands throughout elementary, middle, and high school. Graduating in 1995, he gave up playing trumpet to focus on learning to play tribal hand drums and singing. During this time, Eric was introduced to the electronic music scene and illegal warehouse parties in St. Louis. After relocating to Champaign-Urbana, Illinois in 1998, he began DJing bleepy acid house and IDM at house parties and local clubs, eventually going on to host and DJ two separate radio shows on stations 90.1 WEFT and 104.5 WRFU. Going on to music production and studio engineering was a natural progression and became Eric's primary focus from then on. Since 2001, Eric Young has released 9 albums through independent channels, featuring other talented artists collaborating on many of the projects. In addition to that, he is DJing, producing, mixing, and mastering for independent artists and labels worldwide. He is currently living in Des Moines, Iowa, and working on a new release as well as putting out quality DJ mixes regularly."
