student of the dark arts l.p.
hey all, i'm working on a 6-song l.p. called "student of the dark arts". the closest approximation i can give you in terms of style is "psychedelic progressive" with a heavy tech and neuro influence. oh, and did i mention goa and psytrance? yeah, those are a pretty big influence too.
i'm really returning to my roots on this one, albeit with a bit more ADD. my work's become very edit-heavy a la noisia, but i've always loved the groove-oriented feel of old ed rush & optical and i feel more of a pull towards that groove than the sometimes-mindless energy that is, in some respects, inevitable in drum and bass.

the first three are tunes from the album; the additional piece, "namaste", falls somewhere between melodic techy goodness and liquid funk.

I tried listening to your tunes andy, but that damn myspace lags like a POS.
You have those up on a non-myspace page?
I'd like to listen but it seriously took over 5 minutes to load your page, so I gave up before the player loaded. Don't know if it's because it's "peak hour", or my connection sucks, probably both. |

^^HELL YEAH!! I wont be able to listen till I get home from work but I will for sure listen! I am looking forward to it being as how you have been kicking me some knowledge ya did i mean! Maybe you could peep some of my shiznity out and let me know what you think in regards to those topics we have been talking about (frequency, phasing, mixing down). Would be a good reference point for me. And thanks again for schoolin me in the dark arts son!!
