yes i am leaving again. i'm nomadic, it goes with the territory
i actually intended to move to new york last year, but some logistical issues and opportunities presented themselves and i came back here for a short stretch with the intention of leaving in the spring.
it's weird--i've been walking up and down melrose the last couple days going in and out of record stores buying some, errrrrrrmmmm, out-there s**t to play for you guys this sunday, and i've been getting a little sad knowing i'm gonna be leaving again. i grew up as a dj in the la jungle scene and in a weird way i'll always consider it my home with relation to electronic music (i moved here from the dc rave scene in '9  . so many elating and heart-wrenching experiences have happened for me here, and the fact that i'm playing my last LA set at proper brings everything full circle.
valida and kelly are two of my oldest LA drum & bass friends. i met them in a very odd way at science almost five years ago (you two know what i'm talking about ). it's so ironic yet fitting for my final set to take place at their bangin' club.
and playing with roxanne? for those of you who don't know, roxanne was an honorary los : angeles : bass resident. she rinsed l:a:b 1 and 2 in these WICKED tag teams. the first was with hive and e-sassy at the bat cave--rox, you remember picking the needle up off the wrong record?? ;P no, but really, seeing her not only hang, but come correct as f**k with those two LA dons is just a part of what inspired l:a:b 2, which most of you will remember as the jungle party with all chicks in the main room. she tagged a headline set with the infallible sage at that party and for those of you who missed it, eh, what can i say? the whole damn party was legendary.
for those of you who know me, last time i left LA i didn't really get a chance to say goodbye to all the people here i love--fortunately i came back and have been given a second chance. if you can, come out to proper tomorrow night and throw your drink at me for old time's sake,............KIDDING!!!!!!!!!! just come out, get freaky on the dancefloor and give me a goodbye 'rewind selecta!!' or 'lighta!' or some s**t. even a 'boh!' would suffice
as far as the set goes, dude,...it's gonna be funky as f**k and represent a variety of breaks velocities. that's the only hint you get!!! see ya sunday!!!!! =D
