JPP::DSC-Desert Massive-Nov.8th



On Saturday, November 8th the Desert Sound Coalition will join forces once again with our friends at Just Plain Positive & Tonz of Drumz to bring you the biggest, baddest, most rip-snort'nest desert bash to date. The talent is confirmed & a location that will not get any better than what you will experience on the 8th has been selected.

A long abandoned ghost town which has been reduced to miles of unique chasms & plateaus will be your destination for the weekend. Garaunteed to be a location you have never seen before!

2 separate, neighboring areas will be utilized with Area 1 bringing you 100% DnB sounds. Area 2 - hosted by Tonz of Drumz - bringing you 100% reggae/ragga soundz. We are 200% in full effect for this one.


The fortunate ones will experience:

Area 1 - DnB

Nightstalker : 2am-3am

Centrifuge : 4am-5am

DJ Unit : 3am-4am

Melicious : 1am-2am

World Renowned : 10pm-11pm

Starfox : 9pm-10pm

Tryst : 11pm-12am

MKUltra : 12am-1am

TROX : 5am-7am

Festivities begin at sundown & go until noon the next day or whenever we pack it up - whichever comes later!

At about 5:00am Sunday morning, we will pull the plug on Area 2, gather as a group at Area 1 (or your perch of choice) and groove to the mind-altering ambience/down-tempo sounds of DJ TROX. He'll be conjuring up the sun for a full 2 hours until our shadows are long. After the sun is up & on its journey west, y'all know the debauchery don't stop there - it just gets better so it's round-robin stylees for the DJs until Ricardo puts the finishing touches on the last gas tank. Or until we pack it up, whichever comes later.

Remember, it will be Fall time in the desert so bring your long sleeves. No tube-tops & camo knickers this time, sorry! There will be entire truck beds dedicated to bringing loads of firewood out so warmth won't be an issue though.


ON A PERSONAL NOTE:

I've been traveling the deserts an average of at least 3 times a month this whole past year finding locations & all sorts of things but I gotta tell you guys I've noticed this:
The desert as we know it is getting very crowded & I give it 2 decades max until it resembles any one of our 'Inland Valeys'. Everything between here & Barstow & even then some is all houses & shiny new neighborhoods now. Quite affodable housing if I may say so myself. So -- for the Desert Sound Coalition anyways -- the days of "60 minutes from all SoCal areas" are over!! We're no longer choosing locations that will be dainty on your cars odometer - like they ever really were! I've definitely noticed that the terrain just gets much better & better the farther out you go & Of course, it's much more secluded out there as well. Theres a thousand locations that are closer to L.A. but that really isn't what it's all about anymore.


A NEW ERA:

What it is "all about" for us & what you will be seeing from the DSC in the years to come is that a desert party is meant to be an intimate 'tribal experience'; far away from any other venue that you might enjoy during the week. Putting much distance between us & the trash that we so wish to elude will naturally weed out the inevitable jackass who wants to come out just to "F*** Sh** up at your party, man". If that isn't your attitude, you're not the inevitable jackass of which I speak.

If it were up to me - the days of negative vibes & unexpected authority figures are a notion not worth worrying about anymore. The Desert Sound Coalition will do all within its power to escape all that & our main focus is to accomodate that.

So, switch your vibe over to "good", gather your camping supplies & head out into the deep desert with the DSC on November 8th to enjoy what will most likely be THE final desert shindig of 2003.

We'll also have another 'living art' performance again, put on by several very good friends of mine. They were out at the Reggae Party on Cinco de Mayo but they'll go longer run deeper this time.

With area 1 raised high up on a plateau & area 2 being sunk in a chasm....the art performance will be somewhere in between.

Area 2 is gonna have awesome acoustics with 20 ft earthen walls surrounding it!

how low? i used to have a lowerd s10 that was my desert mobile..it was about 3 inches off the ground..but it took a beating.

this is gonna be so much fun.. I am way more excited about this party than any massive...... I know I will have fun with all the freedom & enviroment. All the homies!!! and my own cooler filled with beer this s**t will be off the hook for sure

well unit...its a heavy ass SUV and the rear shackles are an inch an a half off the ground. :/ ... damn i need airbags. if its smooooth n dirt "paved" then i could make it. anyone SEEN the terrain path??? I THINK I NEED A RIDE!!!

I think you're gonna need a ride too man. The road aint bad at all - its actually much better than most of our locations - but an inch and a half off the ground....I don't think you wanna scrape it up.

we got your system for the Ragga area


same system that was at human..in jawbone....

because of the way the 2 areas are set up..neither area will clash..


also..this is a VERY LOW DUST area and we will set tarps down to minimize the dust levels..

so things will be AWESOME..

and its not gonna be THAT cold..
a tad chilly.but not freezing.
