Re: FIREWALL vs DATABASS

Databass is always the s**t. Bad ass DJ's throwing super sets, at a cool location. With that said, consider this. Databass is strong and is going nowhere. It is also overcrowded and hot every friggin time. Why not support the wreckignition cats, who have brought some sick ass parties in the past, and I guess they're back on the warpath. I say help these cats keep a good thing going. Support the local DJ's. I'm definitely going to Firewall. Respect to the sublife/databass crew. You guys are the premier spot for monthly gigs. I'm sure you wont miss my support, 'cause I'll probably be there again next month.

Re: FIREWALL vs DATABASS

I love databass, it serves me well. But my heart is definatly with the underground. Wreckignition has been throwing dope parties since as long as i've been partying. All I have to say is after going to outstanding shows like Army of Darkness, wreckignition has earned my loyalty. I will be hitting up future databass shows for sure, they have a good thing going too. But I would rather have an underground vibe!!!

it's a very dope looking place.

i rarely get to see stakka & skynet, ufo, and stareyes and looking at this night they've got two dope proucers, a dope dj, and then a female dj as well as the databass residents.

but at the same time, firewall has two areas of d'n'b with many of my favorite mc's and dj's. so i'll go to both for sure! special junglescene guest list though?? what's that all about? hope it doesn't turn into a who-can-kiss-the-most-ass contest....

it's definitely not a versus thing. that's what i think is so great about la. there's so much to do. sometimes clubs/parties overlap. it happens, that's life. we're very lucky here to have a choice. go live somewhere else in the country and you're home alone on a saturday night playing nintendo.

I am fully supportive of this party...what I can't figure out is why anyone would go out of there way to not book UK talent....sounds Xenophobic too me...do we really have to discriminate against British DJs? I don't understand why this is a good aspect of this party...perhaps you just worded your post poorly....maybe it should say something like Firewall is making it a point to throw an all LA drum n bass party...I don't know I have been thinking about this comment all day and it just doesn't sit well with me...my .02

Re: both FIREWALL and DATABASS are gonan be sick

were not makin it a point.
we are simply throwing a party with djs whos styles we are famillar with.
'why because
when we set out to do this event I wanted to create an experience from begining to end. we put together the lineupand timeslots in a simillar way a dj would program a set. each dj placed in a specific slot acording to his style & crowd control.
See nobody does this anymore ( I realize most promoters are not djs and dont think about this sort of thing). ,I know how everyone on the flyer plays and where to place them to create the best night from begining to end. Plus these djs are more famillar with all of you and your needs and tastes more than any out of towner would be. I just want to throw a party that I personally would want to go to and get somthing from, the best way I know how.
It dosnt mean that I would not go see uk talent, I would jus go for different reasons.
mainly plates>
I love stakka and skynet tunes
I own almost everything they have released (together and seperate).
I listen to uk PRODUCERS all day long.
when I go out at night I wanna hear DJS.
jus my oppinion.

like travis said, these are going to be two completely different kinds of parties- from the line up, to the visuals, to the atmosphere- TOTALLY seperate themes and ideas.

enjoy whatever fits your needs for this night! and takes lots of pictures wherever you go ;p
