maybe selling ragga - if the price is right.

I have a lot of OLD congo natty s**t and other ragga from before everyone started trying to do old-skool all over again. I guess I'm curious to see how well I could do selling it. I have...

His Imperial Majesty
Champion Natty
Fever
Boom Bye Bye
Red Alert
Peace
Exodus
I Hear You Calling
K&W EP feat. Who Dem, Unity is Strength
Natural Mystic
Lose Your Soul
Emperor Selassie
No Sell Out
Gritty City / Sunshine
Police inna Helicopter
Ras Tena
Wardance
Crunk Vinyl 001-006

also a bunch of earlier k&w stuff (i.e. let the fires burn, colly weed, etc.), 2 or 3 of the FreeBurning whitelabels, what I believe to be an original copy of ORIGINAL NUTTAH, and various other bits. This is by no means a complete list. it's enough to fill a crate, full of CLASSICS and has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING by newer ragga artists (i.e. general malice or other artists of similar style). just jumpup-ish ragga with a few VERY choice old-skool cuts.

this collection was largely amassed during a huge disappointment cycle in drum and bass. I purchased most of it, painstakingly and expensively at times, over the course about 8 or 9 months.

what would a crate like this be worth to you, mister or missus ragga dj? I'm curious.

Re: maybe selling ragga - if the price is right.

You know, this list is full of gems and anthems sought after by any ragga dj. The only problem is the value. I'm sure they're all original pressings, which is dope to have (I've got your whole list ); but Congo Natty in particular has RE-PRESSED ALL OF THEIR BACK CATALOG TO DEATH.

Not to dis them, everytime they do it, they all sell. But they are all on white labels with weird catalog numbers that have nothing to do with Zion, Ras, or Lion catalog numbers from before.

So, the tunes themselves are no longer rare (it kills me too cuz I spent a lot of time and money before all the repressing began), but the original pressings I guess would be considered collectors items by a very small amount of people.

I'd keep 'em

Re: maybe selling ragga - if the price is right.

Fair enough!

Thank you very much for the perspective. I didn't know that about CN, I've been out of the vinyl-buying scene forEVER now.

Re: maybe selling ragga - if the price is right.

i have two K&W(?) ep's, each are 4x12. i forget which records belong to which pack, but they include a "jah is my guide" long remix, "trinity", "jah no dead", "sensi today", etc.

also have a k&w 2x12" with a tune called "computer tongue". probably another couple 2x12"s also, and a vintage vinyl copy of Bob Marley & the Wailers' "Babylon by Bus" I liked to throw in to change things up a bit just for s**ts and giggles.

all of these were purchased 2001 or before and often in larger quantities from people that were dumping collections.
